Jesus H Christ: - 36% of young (18-34) Canadian men would vote for Trump over Harris. - 44% of Conservatives would. - 48% of Conservative men (vs 31% who would vote for Harris). Today. Not in 2016, when they might not have understood fully what he was about. But now, after all that he has said and done since, including this horrific election campaign. In Canada.

There is absolutely no place for political violence in our democracy. Although we don’t yet know exactly what happened, we should all be relieved that former President Trump wasn’t seriously hurt, and use this moment to recommit ourselves to civility and respect in our politics. Michelle and I are wishing him a quick recovery.

In grad school, I worked part time at @lululemon (retail, not corporate). I learned more about business from that part time job folding & selling yoga pants than any other job I had. ❤️ Here’s what they did differently:

This is something: an article in the Journal of Pediatric Medicine makes the case that the rise in anxiety and depression in children and youth is linked to the severe (and relatively recent) curtailing of independence. Roaming, making choices, getting into a little trouble, it turns out, is a necessary part of growing up. When you take this away, children become unable to navigate the ebbs and flows of the real world. I made this argument in my TED talk a decade ago about the importance of walking to school - arguing that walking to school is not frivolous, but rather critical, to childhood. Another blow against cities designed for driving. “Our thesis is that a primary cause of the rise in mental disorders is a decline over decades in opportunities for children and teens to play, roam, and engage in other activities independent of direct oversight and control by adults.” jpeds.com/article/S0022-3476…

CaféTO patios make our neighbourhoods more vibrant places for residents, and they allow small businesses to scale up their operations, welcome more guests and hire more staff. Today, we announced three changes for 2024. 1/5

Tic Tacs are 94% sugar and yet claim to be sugar free… The FDA says anything can be labeled sugar free if it has <0.5g of sugar, so each tic tac is 0.49g and they can claim they have 0 sugar on the label – at San Francisco, CA

Perfect example of what too much bureaucracy looks like in real time. The culture at City Hall needs to change. Doing good things for the city should not be a fight. 2022: successful popular restaurant patio 2023: too close to the curb of a signalized intersection

Lol fuck this shit. The CafeTO patio saved our summer last year, Swan NEEDS it and it caused…ZERO problems—what do i do? I have no more contacts at city hall…somebody help?
