There is something deeply unsettling about politicians warning that members of a particular group are voting in large numbers. We have grown so accustomed to this rhetoric in Israel that we barely notice it anymore. But we should.
Imagine American politicians warning next week that too many Jews are turning out to vote in Michigan. The outrage would be obvious.
Are there legitimate reasons to debate whether Arab political parties should be part of the next government? Yes. But portraying high voter turnout among Arab citizens as a threat to Israel’s future is something entirely different.

הנה מה שנתניהו והקואליציה רצה שתשכחו: את ה-7 באוקטובר.
פלישה אל תוך המדינה. אלפי מחבלים. ילדים שנחנקים מעשן בממ"דים תחת אש, מחכים להצלה שלא הגיעה. אימהות שמביטות בילדיהם בפעם האחרונה. רצח ג'נוסיידי. חטיפות אונס המוני.
רק בעל תפקיד אחד נותר בתפקידו. רק אחד. בנימין נתניהו. מתקפת הפתע של ה-7 באוקטובר לא קרתה לו, כמו ה-11 בספטמבר לג'ורג' בוש, כמה חודשים אחרי שנכנס לתפקידו. הוא היה האיש הכי מנוסה בחדר, בכל חדר. וגם הכי יהיר. הוא המנהיג שהזהיר מטנדרים לבנים של חמאס בישראל. הוא ראש הממשלה שאמר שחמאס מורתע. הוא זה שיצר למעשה את "חמאס הוא נכס", קונספציה שהופצה על ידי הקומיסרים שלו. ובעיקר: נתניהו הבטיח ב-2009, כאשר רבים מהישראלים טרם נולדו, שיפיל את שלטון חמאס. הוא הבטיח שיזהה איומים טוב מכל אחד אחר, שהאחריות הביטחונית כולה עליו. על זה נבחר לתפקידו.
המערכת הצבאית ושב"כ נכשלו באורח עמוק ונורא. הם הכזיבו, לקו בעיוורון וביוהרה. אך בראש המדינה עמד בנימין נתניהו. הכסף מקטאר, המדיניות כלפי עזה, שחרור סינוואר מכלאו – זה הכל ביבי. נתניהו לא פתח את השערים לחמאס, ובוודאי שלא רצה בטבח הנורא ביותר ליהודים מאז השואה. אבל הוא התרשל רשלנות פושעת, וכולם (גם שופרותיו הנרצעים) יודעים שזה נכון. זו גם הסיבה ששליש מהליכוד ויותר עזב את נתניהו, לפי כל הסקרים. ליכודניקים שאמרו: עד כאן.
דם אחיותינו ואחינו צועק אלינו מהאדמה: שנהיה ראויים. שהאחראים ישלמו מחיר. המחיר המינימלי: מי שעמדו בראש המדינה בעת פלישת חמאס לא יהיו עוד בתפקידם. זוכרים את הסנטימנט הזה? "כולם הביתה!". כולנו חשבנו כך מיד אחרי ה-7 באוקטובר. ראש הממשלה, והרמטכ"ל, ראש אמ"ן, אלוף פיקוד הדרום, ראש השב"כ. וכולם באמת הלכו. חוץ מביבי.
מערכת הפרופגנדה והגזלייט המתוחכמת בעולם נכנסה לפעולה. לשסע בינינו. לפזר ספקות. להפיץ קונספירציות. לדלל את האמת עד שייוותר ממנה רק אוושה שחולפת בצמרות החשוכות בבתי העלמין שלנו. בתי העלמין שנמלאו בטובים שבבני ובנות הארץ.
הישראלים הולכים אל הקלפיות היום. השינוי חייב להיות מהדהד, חד-משמעי. זו הזדמנות אחרונה, לפני שזו תהפוך למדינת גולדקנופף את בן גביר, פינת מירי רגב.
ההיסטוריה מביטה בנו. העתיד, וגם העבר. האופטימיות ממתינה לתוצאות; ההחלמה והתנופה הישראלית הגדולה מעבר לפינה. אבל לפני הכל: שינוי. שינוי היום.

Regardless of where you stand on this election, it’s moving to see @gadi_eisenkot accompany former hostage Gadi Moses to his polling place to vote…in Kibbutz Nir Oz. On October 7th, 2023, one in four residents of Nir Oz were killed or taken hostage. After being massacred, Israelis rebuild their communities to flourish. One of many signs of Israel’s promise: the ballot box.

This is a poor understanding of Israeli politics. The majority of opposition bloc voters support forming a government with the help of Arab parties, as opposed to repeat elections or a government with Netanyahu, but the voters between the in between the two blocs largely oppose this.
It isn't less likely, it's called a political campaign that goes after swing voters.
After the election, if the polls are accurate, Eisenkot will have a much better chance of forming a government.
"The anti-Palestinian, antidemocratic and, frankly, anti-strategic decision by almost all opposition parties to refuse a coalition with Arab parties means they are almost as unlikely to form a government as the Netanyahu bloc. They have even ruled out the prospect of relying on support from Arab parties in the Knesset, without inviting them into the coalition. [...] Thus the opposition has effectively excluded Palestinian citizens as legitimate partners in the political process."
