One of the paradoxes of #adhd is how important notifications are whilst also being a source of distraction. I've been fine-tuning my setup so I don't miss urgent messages but can still find time to concentrate.

Whilst it’s far from over, the current trickle of people setting up on @joinmastodon demonstrates very clearly the number one rule of social networks:
The defining characteristic of any network is the quality of the network, not the technology that underpins it.
The irony is that the people who are likely to want to escape Musk’s hellscape are the people I want to follow and @joinmastodon might actually end up with a better network in terms of what I value, not just an adequate one.
