My reading goals for 2026 are modest: Read 70 books. Read 54 magazines. Read 4 literary magazines. Write 5 short stories. Make it so. #WritingCommunity #readingworld #writerscommunity #writersoftwitter #readinggoals #bookstoread
Please take a look at the video in this post. It's important. You never know when it might be useful.
Thanks to my friend @alove_1980 for posting it.
#EpilepsyMyths: You CANNOT swallow your tongue. It may be swollen afterwards from biting it during the #seizure, but it CANNOT be swallowed.
I once woke up after multiple #seizures with a tongue so swollen that I had to communicate with a tablet because I couldnโt talk. So please stop believing that during a seizure a tongue can be swallowed. ๐คฅ๐
AND DO NOT TRY TO PUT A SPOON IN THEIR MOUTH!! ๐๐

Abolish the Indian Act!
Premier Kinew of Manitoba is absolutely correct.
Thanks to @sarobertson_ for the post.
Wab Kinew calls on Ottawa to abolish Indian Act: "I'm not sure if that lines up with your vision of Canada, that we still have a race-based form of identification in this country. It's long overdue that we have a relationship with Indigenous peoples in Canada that reflects who we are as Canadians today."
A true assessment.
Books give peace to the mind and soul.
Thanks to @GalvanPero55796 for this telling post.
Read The Disabled God Revisited by @LisaDawnPowell. It's a reexamination of Nancy Eiesland's landmark work, The Disabled God. Ms. Powell reinforces the message that God may be seen as disabled because of the wounds on the resurrected Jesus. Powerful. #disability #booktwt #books

ALT cover of the book, The Disabled God Revisited by Lisa D. Powell with a painting titled Self Portrait 1 by Nancy Willis. The pastel portrait is of a woman sitting in a wheelchair. The figure and chair, in three quarter view, face to the right. Turning back towards the reader, the stylised head is angled down and nestles into her shoulder. The face is drawn in a sculptural fashion with curves of smeared pastel suggesting the depth of eye sockets and the bridge of a nose.

Read Theo of Golden by Allen Levi. Thoroughly enjoyed. It's warm, gentle, compassionate, reflective. The villain in this story is regret. Recommended. Also available in accessible formats from @CELAlibrary in Canada and @Bookshare in the US. #books #bookworm #booktwt
Tequila by The Champs
Louis Riel.
In my opinion, he should be recognized as one of the Fathers of Confederation.
Today we honour the legacy of Louis Riel who was born 182 years ago today in Saint Boniface at the Red River Settlement in 1844. Among many things, Riel was a leader and a visionary who fought to protect the rights of the Mรฉtis Nation during the Red River and North-West Resistances.
Mรฎyo tipiska/Miyo tipishka/Bonn fayt/Joyeux anniversaire Louis Riel!
Thoroughly enjoyed Trust Me On This by Lauren Parvizi. It's about two sisters who hardly know each other. They take a trip across California to see their dying father. Revelations and secrets abound. Entertaining. Recommended. Also available from @CELAlibrary. #books #bookworm
This is a post from a friend for whom I have great respect, @alove_1980, discussing Sudden Unexpected Death In Epilepsy Action Day which is today. Please take a moment to read what she posted. #epilepsy #SUDEPActionDay
