It's October! Hope you are getting ready, it's almost time, find a sincere pumpkin patch because The Great Pumpkin is coming !
October 27, 1966- 50 Years ago today, the premiere of "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" on CBS happened. The 3rd animated Peanuts special. The first Halloween special ever. The special had 49% of the television viewing audience that night. #Peanuts #TheGreatPumpkin
I like how fitting it was to have Charlie Brown be the first person who waits for the Great Pumpkin with Linus. A shift from the previous year.
Yes, this one was used for "The Great Pumpkin" special just parts changed and it being Sally. #Peanuts
From November 2 ,1959
It's interesting because it's Charlie Brown making fun of Linus - a big rarity- and that it feels like it wasn't going to be a permeant thing. The last panel makes it feel like it that was going to be it. #Peanuts #GreatPumpkinDay
October 26, 1959- The Great Pumpkin is first mentioned in Peanuts. Linus' concept comes from him confusing the concept of Santa into having a second figure that does it for Halloween. A figure Linus believes in no matter what anyone else says, he's unwavering.
