A new low in business BS. I'm booking a trip to Paris and Ryanair lists a new destination "Paris-Vatry" which I then determine is 161km from Paris. How gullible do they think people are? It would be almost like saying Galway-Dublin Airport.

A quick rant. I'm in a live chat with Zoom support. Am I the only one who thinks that silent live chat software that requires you to keep looking at the screen, because a response does not generate a sound, is really bad?

Holidaying in Kilrush, Co. Clare, I scanned the horizon with binoculars. Guess how many wind-turbines I counted. My field of view was wider than this photo BTW.

Time to go home to Dublin, ending my first post-Covid trip. Holland to UK this morning was not easy, major delays at both ends related to Covid and Brexit. – at East, England

Feels strange. First business trip in 18 months. Meeting people in person that I've spoken to many times but never met. How tall are they? Filled out lots of forms that nobody checked. – at De Ronde Venen, Nederland

I tell deeptech startups about the need for paying customers - even from the very beginning. Today I belatedly came across a great concept from @joshk - The Penny Gap - the very substantial challenge of getting from free/zero to being paid any amount. redeye.firstround.com/2007/0…
Much of VC is for products with (almost) zero incremental Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) e.g. software and pharma. Great piece by @DavidSacks for startups that, though perhaps software-enabled, DO have a meaningful cost per sale/unit. medium.com/craft-ventures/th…
