🚨Never forget the time British police stopped 11-year-olds and taking their details for flying the St George’s Cross in their own capital. Officers surround kids draped in England flags, question them on the street, and note names like it’s a crime. Same city where other flags and marches routinely get a free pass. Flying the flag of the country you’re standing in used to be normal. Now it’s treated as suspicious - even for children. This is what “without fear or favour” looks like in the UK. Disgusting.

It’s 31 years since Dean Windass scored The Greatest Goal You’ve Never Seen. Deary me. He’s got no business hitting it from there. (👍🎥 @BoothferryPod)

Mourinho sat in his living room in Istanbul, staring at his phone after learning that his daughter’s Instagram photo had become a talking point in Turkey. What followed was a conversation even the Special One couldn’t control. His phone rang. “Dad? Is everything okay?” “How long ago did you post that photo?” “Yesterday. Why?” “People are talking here. Not about you. About me.” “You know I didn’t post it to provoke anyone. I just went to the beach.” “I know. But I’m Mourinho. Everything I do, everything my family does, gets scrutinized. Today it’s a bikini photo. Tomorrow it’ll be something else.” He paused before explaining why he wanted her to take it down. “I don’t want you to delete it because I think it’s bad. I want you to delete it because I know the price of attention. I’ve lived with it my whole life. You haven’t.” “What if I don’t delete it?” Mourinho gave a small smile. “Then I’ll have to get used to someone in this house not listening to me. Maybe it’s time.” For a man who built his career on controlling the game, this was a different kind of battle — one where being the Special One didn’t mean getting the final say. #Mourinho #Football

🚨 Staveley's Everton takeover chances rated at just 15% - Former Everton CEO Keith Wyness rates Amanda Staveley's chances of taking over Everton at around 15% - He believes the most likely source of a takeover is a group from the USA - Wyness says Staveley may have her "eyes on other prizes," having also been linked with West Ham following their relegation - Staveley has been away from football since leaving Newcastle in July 2024 - Wyness says The Friedkin Group are committed to selling to the "right people," not just the highest bidder - He said TFG will want a buyer who can "maximise the revenue at the stadium going forward" - Separately, Wyness reiterated that ex-investor Alisher Usmanov should not be allowed near the club again - Usmanov is currently blocked from UK business relations and would likely fail the Premier League's owners' and directors' test, Wyness said

Cristiano Ronaldo has earned over $1,000,000,000 in his career. His father sold the jerseys with his son’s name on the back to buy alcohol - and by the time Cristiano rushed him to the best hospital money could reach, it was already too late. His dad died at 52, years before the first of those millions ever arrived In the video below, Ronaldo breaks down just trying to describe him. “I really don’t know my father 100%,” he says. “He was a drunk person. I never spoke with him like a normal conversation.” The most famous footballer alive never once had a real talk with his own dad. “To be number one,” he says, “and he doesn’t see nothing.” His father had been a soldier, then a poor man who drank through everything - the odd jobs, the family, his son’s rising fame. Cristiano was 20 and just breaking through when the bottle finally took him Here is where it becomes about money. By then Cristiano could buy anything - private doctors, a hospital in another country, the care his father never had a cent for. He paid for all of it. And it bought him nothing. You cannot purchase a person back from an addiction, and no fortune outruns a body that’s already gone. That is the one bill money was never built to settle So remember the rule, because you’ll meet it yourself. Money buys options, access, other people’s time - but never time back from the ones it’s already too late for. We spend our whole lives chasing the fortune that will finally save the people we love, and the cruelty is how often it lands the day after they’re gone. Ronaldo is paid $200,000,000 a year for a man who sold his shirts for a drink and never saw a dollar of it. Make sure the person you’re really working for will still be there when you finally arrive

🗣️ Fleetwood Town manager on Mikel Arteta: Q: Did you get the chance to speak to him after full-time? “No, because I've not. He shook my hand two or three times, and he was really, really gracious. I can imagine it's a really disappointing night for him. “But yeah, the way that he acted with class is amazing, really. And I would love to catch up with him, pick his brain and learn off the best. “But he's been really busy with media and all the emotion, like the crowd, so we've not managed to cross paths. “But he said ‘well done’ in the tunnel briefly and how well we did, and that was it. “And obviously, a show of class from him.”
