The Sports Equinox is today! So here's a wild connect, bit of an Immaculate Grid type of deal: -On the diamond, all 10 of the MLB players at some point played for the Astros or Dodgers. -On the ice, all but Karlsson played for the Rangers or Islanders.

Sports Equinox Monday: There are games in the NBA, NHL, NFL and Major League Baseball all on the same night for just the 33rd time, according to the founders of @bball_ref, since the first time it happened in October 1971. And: Dream at Valkyries in Game 5 of the WNBA Finals.

Yards per game is a shitty stat and doesn't tell you much (you may be throwing more often because you're behind) so ideally you'd want yards per attempt or adjusted net yards per attempt and Oh!
A stat that shouldn’t be true but is… The Nathaniel Hackett - Russell Wilson offense of 2022 averaged 73 more yds per game than this Sean Payton - Bo Nix led offense. Also separated by just 2 pts per game. Sean called 2022 “one of worst coaching jobs in the history of the NFL”

Javonte Williams is the third player (fourth instance) in Dallas Cowboys franchise history to have at least 7 rushing touchdowns through the first 6 games of a season. Quite the disparity in attempts and yards from Emmitt Smith's two instances. Worth noting these were the first 6 games of Calvin Hill's season specifically in 1971, not the team's. Sixth time in Patriots history a quarterback has had 3+ passing touchdowns in 3+ consecutive games, and the first since 2017 (via @pfref). Oh, and 2007 Tom Brady was insane.
Drake Maye has his third consecutive game of three-plus passing touchdowns. First time in his career he's had any consecutive such games.
