Last week, the County Council passed my bill CB-010-2023 An Act Concerning Prince George’s County Open Data! The legislation requires the County to make certain data sets available publicly on the internet.
This important piece of legislation will increase transparency and accountability by nature of making government data and information more accessible to the public.

Last week, I was happy to host student leaders from each of the District 8 high schools for the first ever District 8 Youth Takeover at the County Council!

10 students from each of the 3 high schools, Crossland, Friendly, & Oxon Hill, had the opportunity to participate in a County Council meeting then be positioned as decision-makers challenged to come up with innovative policy solutions to issues the County Council is debating.
Additionally, students engaged with State's Attorney @SABraveboy, @ChiefAzizPGPD , and Prince George's County Sheriff John Carr to discuss solutions to youth crime.
