After the first month of the season, I was beginning to think OC Bobby Slowik might be one and done in Miami. Since then, he's transformed the Dolphins' running game into a legitimate strength and, believe it or not, one of the most entertaining parts of watching this offense.
What impresses me most is that Slowik is figuring out how to play to his players' strengths rather than trying to force square pegs into round holes. In the last game, he also appeared to work well with the QB coach to help Malik Willis make quicker decisions, whether throwing the football or taking off and running.
I've got to give Slowik credit. He's making adjustments, getting creative, and giving this offense an identity. That's quite a turnaround from a guy I was ready to help pack his office a few weeks ago!

Bobby Slowik's run game has been exciting and PHYSICAL this season.
How he's transformed Miami's scheme without De'Von Achane
A good little nugget on Josh Uche from the Miami Herald's Barry Jackson. Sure, everyone is feeling pretty good after that first win of the season. I mean, winning football games is a pretty refreshing concept this year!
But what really stands out is how this team seems to be playing with one mind and a shared purpose. You can tell they're buying into the leadership, respecting the guy calling the shots, and willing to run through a brick wall for him. Amazing what happens when everyone is rowing in the same direction instead of drilling holes in the boat!

.@MiamiDolphins took their first lead of the season in the 7/76 opening drive and never looked back. #BaldysBreakdowns
The Dolphins did some nice things in the running game, and OC Bobby made some good adjustments in the passing game by getting the ball out of Malik Willis' hands quickly.
Of course, the Jets were Miami's easiest opponent so far, so let's hope the offensive line can continue to grow and improve as a unit.
While Savaiinaea has shown improvement on the right side this season, he remains part of the problem, along with Austin Jackson.
Looking ahead, the Dolphins will need to address both starting guard positions through free agency and the draft next year.

C. Robinson (Miami Dolphins) is in the upper right corner of the chart, in the green “FAST & FREQUENT” section.
His approximate statistics are:
* Pressure Rate: 23.4%
* Time to Pressure: 2.46 seconds
He is among the fastest and most frequent pass rushers shown on the chart.

Got a text from another personnel executive this morning, noting that this is the third straight QB class that has had similar problems.
The 2027 QB draft class was expected to be loaded. Now it’s getting messy. And it’s not just an Arch Manning problem. From NFL Blue Book… nflbluebook.com/p/week-7-rec…
Here are some answers to some of the questions you may have:
1. Are you potentially hurting yourself and the team's long term future by winning games now at the expense of better draft position in 2027?
2. What are you asking Malik Willis to do during games, and what role do you envision for him in the offense?
3. Are you going to take meaningful action to address the costly penalties that continue to hurt this team, or are we going to get the same lip service we've heard from every head coach since Dave Wannstedt?

The Dolphins defensive rookies struggled as a whole against the Jets, but they still showed up big when they needed to in this game.

@AdamArchuleta breaks down the @MiamiDolphins INT
Years ago, I remember watching Eagles WR Harold Carmichael tower over smaller defensive backs, reaching over them to make catches like they weren’t even there. It was almost comical! Ever since then, I’ve been a big fan of tall, physical wide receivers. That’s why I could never understand Adam Gase and Mike McDaniel’s obsession with Smurf sized receivers. Give me a big receiver who can go up and get the football.
Caleb Douglas is a MONSTER
Douglas might have been the most criticized pick of the whole draft and it's awesome to watch him immediately prove people wrong #PhinsUp

Good strategy as the right side of the line is better at run blocking than pass blocking.

I have some good friends going to their annual Met Life Takeover. They always have a great time together, and I am happy that they left with a W as we are headed for a NY Jets sweep!
