Congratulations @rosemondepower for delivering a wonderful exit seminar on her work on heartworm these last 3 years! She turned her #PandemicPhD into an incredible investigation into the global origins of canine ❤️🪱 with implications for diagnosis of drug resistance @JanSlapeta
Thank you @herminthology!
Next in our CiPs2023 series in conjunction with @AS_Para at #PiP2024 we have @phoebe_rivory. Phoebe is a PhD student at @Sydney_Vet studying Angiostrongylus cantonensis aka rat lungworm 🪱🐀 and it's impacts on accidental dog hosts 🐕🧠

ALT A pink tile with a quote from PhD student Phoebe Rivory from the Sydney School of Veterinary Science at the University of Sydney, Australia. The quote reads: "Prior to starting my PhD, I briefly ventured into the food safety industry, but was itching to get back into the chaos of research, where no two days are the same. The field of parasitology presents a huge variety of work, so my curiosity never dwindles."

where are all the universities around the world who prided themselves on the principles of indigenous rights and empowerment? of equality and freedom? have they forgotten everything that they stand for? do academics and scholars only matter when they’re white?
