Day 300 writing tip, October 27th, 2026
✍️ BOOK LAUNCH DAY
Happy Book Launch Day to all who celebrate.
When I woke up, my husband wrote this note on my computer, and I feel like I can do anything.
And on day 300!
So how does a writer get to this day?
If you've made it past...
1. The Manuscript of Madness
2. Through the tunnel of "I don't love this phase" editing.
3. Past the last round of "Who wants to hide this manuscript under the mattresses and tell no one."
4. To, okay, I might actually do this.
5. But wait, where did that spelling error come from?
Then you might be ready to launch the book out into the known universe.
You might feel like you are never ready.
You will be.
What if no one reads it?
Maybe, but you can always gift everyone a copy at the Holidays and Birthdays.
The point.
🪅It's day 300 of writing these tips.
🪅Every day, showing up and saying something that might help someone, just as they help me.
🪅Michael and I planned to release this particular book about 3 years ago, and we're finally getting here.
🪅Knowing this book is not like the others.
🪅Knowing we kept the integrity of Michael's voice.
🪅Knowing it's a book guys might want to read, too.
1. You can get there if this is your road.
2. Take one day at a time.
3. Let us celebrate with you on your own launch day.
There are only 65 days left this year.
Let's make the most of it.

Help us celebrate Tony's Book Birthday and actual Birthday by liking, sharing, and/or purchasing your copy of his book.
It's a mix of Stranger Things, Narnia, a circus, and something all its own. Anabel and her friends meet a mysterious stranger just as an age-old darkness returns to this small Idaho town.
Will they stop the darkness before it's too late?

I just picked up the Kindle version of Travel by Star last night. Only a few pages in, but I’m enjoying it! You can tell pretty quickly if something is well written or not, and your book is clearly quality work.

It. Is. Done...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
10 days to do the ending.
6 weeks since I started writing, exactly.
116,500 words.
My book is done.
Ok, except the Epilogue, but I is saving that for when I want happy tears writing weddings. :D
It really helped deciding last minute to go to this writer's conference - tomorrow - cuz that meant I had a deadline. And I made it!! I can now, honestly, say I have a book!!

The work of a thousand years of artists can be destroyed in a single night by a madman. So for every picture, there must not only be a paintbrush, there must also be a sword, or beauty will not endure.

Buy and read it! It's loads of fun.

I'm in the final edits of Songless: The Fort, and I have one chapter that tears my heart out. It is so hard to edit. I wrote it, and it has to be there. I'm not sorry about it, I simply have no idea how I keep surviving it.

When someone says (cough, Gerwig), they read what Lewis read...
Chesterton was oft quoted and respected, and read by Lewis. This is one author he read.
The Collected Works of G.K. Chesterton, published by Ignatius Press, planned 48 volumes and published 23, of which I have one. These aren't even his books.
Small print, about 600 pages.
What about reading all of Lewis work?
If you only take his published works while alive, that's about 34 books.
What about non-books?
That's about 215 shorter essays, sermons, and reviews. One of my favorites is "Vivisection."
If you want authority on Lewis, get it from Lewis. Not someone trying to convince you they are the authority on the works, when you can just read the works for yourself.
READ IN 2027 "Chronicles of Narnia."
"Safe?" said Mr Beaver... "Who said anything about safe? 'Course he isn't safe. But he's good. He's the King, I tell you." (C. S. Lewis).

The state of political conservatism in the United States is abysmal and depressing.
The state of artistic conservatism in the United States gives me glorious hope.
What do I mean by “artistic conservatism?”
Conservative Art is a participation in the inherited order rather than a departure from it. Tradition and craft aren’t artistic cages but the preconditions for meaning, and it treats goodness, truth, and beauty as discoveries rather than clever inventions.
Specifically from a Christian perspective, art is participation in transcendent reality. This kind of art imitates the way divine and natural order works, not merely the artist’s private expression.
Many of you are doing this so well. I’m proud to know you.
Let’s continue to push back against the dark together.
