Something I do really miss from oldgen is rage / element specific partbreaks. I think it gave monsters all that much more individuality when you have to pivot around those

"you know what i'd really like?" "tell me" "a monkey" "...we can do a monkey" "a space monkey, no non-electric canons, no aoe slop" "i'll make you a very good space monkey. bubble shields, glasses, scientist and everything"

Had a conversation the other day about the best subspecies. What would you consider the top few โ€œbest / most successful at the conceptโ€ of subspecies? Two that come to mind are Fulgur & Coral

Thereโ€™s that really interesting dialogue in game about how Alma and Erik differ in their views on whether Elders are just animals or something more. I really hope that nuance is explored beyond people digging heels in and going โ€œb-but theyโ€™re the strongest!!โ€

Some thoughts about Ascendance. I donโ€™t believe the Elders will be โ€œdethroningโ€ the Apexes

โ€œAs fire is set onto the Specter of War, the Black Flame descends on the unguarded village, to reign a nu. Tempered as its flame may be, it was not prepared for the combined might of a Hunter and a Titan.โ€ Godzilla v Monster Hunter Part 8

Really coming to appreciate Duramborosโ€™ combat design. Juiciest hitbox on the hump and the only way to knock it down is KO or tripping during the spin. Didnโ€™t realize it couldnโ€™t topple from leg hits otherwise, really cool touch

Before this felt kinda like a pipe dream, but them showing the arena off being available right there even when Lao isnโ€™t there..? Could possibly be the equivalent of the Wounded Hollow but for Elders

Iโ€™m really interested if the Madoi Stronghold will just be for Lao, how Dundorma can they make it? Iโ€™d be interested to see Kush, most likely not but Gogโ€ฆ Shen? ๐Ÿ‘€
