Congress minister Rizwan Arshad alleges that petrol samples tested across seven Karnataka districts showed ethanol content exceeding 20%, with IOCL and HPCL samples recording 31.2% and 30.5% respectively.
Calling it a breach of public trust, he demands action against oil companies, an E20 compensation fund for consumers facing mileage loss and vehicle damage, and mandatory disclosure of ethanol content at fuel pumps.
He also wants consumers to have the option of buying E10 petrol.

No one has left Bengaluru, and no one ever will. There is only one Bengaluru in all of South Asia, and it cannot be replicated. Industries are here because this is the best place for them to be. Nobody is doing the city a favour.
But Bengaluru cannot take the load anymore. It's time to hit pause: fix the infrastructure, decongest the city, and only then invite more companies to set up shop here.

Warm greeting of Kannada Rajyotsava to all!
India’s GST collections figures for October 26 have been released.
Happy to note that Karnataka continues to perform well in collection of GST. See the table below: among the states with highest collection of GST (Rs 10,000 cr+ per month) like Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat & Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka’s growth of 18%, compared to Oct 25, stands at second highest.
This is indication of the robustness of Karnataka’s economy, despite this being one of worst drought years.
