Why do we see so many new Shadcn libraries these days? Because Shadcn is actually a code distribution platform. For example, to create an 8-bit button, you can take a Shadcn button and restyle it. With the Shadcn registry, sharing and importing is just one CLI command away. Everyone thinks Shadcn is a library, but it’s not, it's much more.

The absolute far and away best feature of React is the ability to define multiple components in one file. I will tolerate all sorts of other pain to be able to do this.

Men and women can be platonic friends. I will die on this hill
A man’s only female friend should be his wife. A woman’s only male friend should be her husband. This is not a controversial take. It’s common sense.

I am the current maintainer of Stylus. The Stylus library has been flagged as malicious lib, which has caused many lib and frameworks that depend on Stylus to fail to install. Please help me retweet this msg in the hope that the npmjs official team will take notice of this issue

AI is a great multiplier for engineers in terms of efficiency and output. But what happens when you multiply by 0? Learn 👏 to 👏 code👏. You can only take advantage when you have a deep understanding of the tools and techniques underpinning the thing you're building.

This is good code. React is just a library. Don’t be scared to work outside of it!
I feel so dumb. A staff engineer and I are both working on sister projects that involve playing audio. We both need to make sure playing one track stops whatever was already playing. I spent hours adding React context bullshit. He just did this 🥲

For the last 3.5 years, the entrance for 81 Berlin museums was free on the first Sunday of every month. Yesterday was the last time... #letzterMuseumssonntag We're sad that our @cduberlin government decided to cut the budget for this and other affordable cultural activities.

The sad part is these security issues we all debated about can be fixed in 5 minutes. No joke, AI can find and fix these simple security mistakes highlighted in the debate. As a developer myself, a comparison like this is a logical fallacy. You can have a professional implement something correct AND they can move fast. Sure, you can skip on mobile responsiveness, performance, design, etc, if you want to “move fast”. But you can’t skip on security. The moment someone creates an account and provides you with information about themself, that’s when real data protection laws come into play. The dog pile happened because experienced developer said “hold up” when multiple exploits were found surrounding software being sold as the baseline for starting a new software projects, and no offense, most of the people buying a starter kit probably know very little about building secure applications in the first place.
