There is a block number where every miner's income gets cut in half. It is 76,853 blocks away. The next halving is at block 1,050,000. On Oct 25 the tip was 973,147 per @Blockstream, leaving 76,853 blocks. At the recent pace of 9.3 minutes per block, that is about 494 days, so around early March 2028. At a strict 10 minutes it is 534 days, closer to April. Faster hashrate growth pulls the date earlier. The subsidy goes from 3.125 BTC to 1.5625 BTC. At $80,099 per coin (@blockchair) that is about $250,000 per block now and $125,000 after. Unless price or fees rise to fill the gap, the same work earns half. What a miner should take from this: machines bought today will spend most of their working life after that block. Efficiency per terahash and the power contract matter more than the purchase price. The halving is the one event in mining with a known address. Plan for it like one.

Tether got 15 mining companies to promise to build for its software. So far that is all it is, a promise. Tether says 15 miners, ASIC makers and pools committed to build and maintain integrations with its open source Mining Development Kit. The list includes @Bitdeer, BITMAIN, Canaan, MicroBT, Foundry, F2Pool and @luxor. The kit reached version 0.11 at the Plan B Forum in Lugano on Oct 23 to 24. A stable 1.0 is targeted for the end of 2026. The release gives no integration dates and no savings numbers. One software layer to monitor and control a mixed fleet would save a lot of manual work. It would also put a stablecoin issuer inside your operations stack. I would wait for a working version on my own fleet before planning around it. @tether has until the end of 2026 to ship 1.0.

Riot just locked in about $9.1 billion of rent in Texas and would not tell us who is paying it. @RiotPlatforms signed a 20 year lease for 191 MW at its Rockdale site in Texas. The initial term is worth about $9.1 billion, roughly $455 million a year at face value. The first 96 MW are due in December 2027. The release does not name the tenant. There is also an @AMD lease at the same site for 50 MW: 25 MW leased in Q2, 10 MW in November and 15 MW in May 2027. And the mining side is not shrinking. Riot mined 1,587 BTC in Q2 2026 against 1,426 a year earlier, and revenue rose 14% to $174.2 million. Why a miner should care: megawatts are becoming the scarce asset, and hash is just one way to sell them. A site with a long lease can ride out a bad hashprice quarter. I would still like to know who signed. A $9.1 billion contract is only as good as the counterparty.

Bitcoin miners get $39 million a day from the protocol and $150,000 from you. Take the 24 hours to Oct 25 on @blockchair. 158 blocks were found. At 3.125 BTC each, that is about 494 BTC from the subsidy, roughly $39.5 million at $80,099 per coin. Fees added about 1.88 BTC, around $150,000. So fees were near 0.38% of block rewards. The subsidy was about 263 times bigger. This is not one odd day. On Aug 11 fees were 0.69% of miner revenue, close to a ten year low per @glassnode data cited by ForkLog, and they have stayed under 1% for almost a year. For a miner this is the uncomfortable part: the income you actually live on is the part with a halving schedule. The part that is supposed to replace it is barely there. I am not calling it a crisis. I am saying nobody should model 2028 revenue assuming fees will show up on time.

At 8 hashprice, 100 TH/s earns about 14 a month. At 20 J/TH it burns 1,440 kWh. Breakeven is 7.9 cents per kWh. At 5 cents you keep 2, at 10 cents you lose 0. Where does your rate land? #BitcoinMining #ASIC #Hashprice

A pool that once held 2.3% of the network is closing. Binance Pool shuts on 10 Nov at 07:00 UTC after hashrate fell 65%, from 26 EH/s in December to about 9.2 EH/s (CoinDesk). Foundry, AntPool and F2Pool now find about 62% of blocks. Does pool concentration change where you point your ASICs? #Bitcoin #MiningPool #BTC

Geographic spread is only half the picture. The top 3 pools hold about 62% of blocks (Foundry ~26%, AntPool ~20%, F2Pool ~16%), so pool decentralization is the gap miners can fix by choosing where they point hashrate.
JUST IN: Nacho Pauls from @ocean_mining explains how to keep Bitcoin mining decentralized. 👀 "What we need is more nodes around the world, more miners around the world, different sources of energy. We need to geographically decentralize the network." "All these chaos that we went through was healthy."

Hashprice is 8 per PH/s per day. A 100 TH/s miner earns about .80 a day before power. At 20 J/TH it draws 48 kWh a day: .40 at /usr/bin/bash.05 per kWh, which leaves .40. What does your power cost? #Bitcoin #BitcoinMining #Hashprice

THE XRPL DOESN’T HAVE A MINING SUBSIDY TO REPLACE Every blockchain needs people to keep its network running securely. The incentives behind that work matter. Bitcoin miners earn newly issued BTC plus transaction fees. The newly issued portion halves roughly every four years. That doesn’t automatically halve their dollar income. A higher BTC price can offset the reduction. Transaction fees can also rise when demand for block space increases. But as new issuance declines toward zero, the network faces a lasting question: Can fee revenue sustain enough mining activity to keep it secure? Cambridge’s Centre for Alternative Finance examined this in its report Funding Bitcoin’s Future. Fees averaged just 0.67% of total miner revenue during the 90 days ending October 4th, 2026. That’s a historical observation rather than a forecast. It shows how heavily miners depended on new issuance during that period. The XRPL uses a different funding model. There’s no mining subsidy. Validators receive no protocol rewards. Transaction fees are destroyed rather than paid to operators. So why run a validator? Businesses and other participants benefit from keeping infrastructure they depend on reliable. For someone already operating a node, adding validation involves relatively little extra cost. The incentive comes from the network’s usefulness rather than a direct reward for validating transactions. That means the XRPL doesn’t need rising transaction fees to replace a shrinking mining subsidy. Fees can discourage spam without also funding miners. The model still depends on reliable operators, sound software and sufficiently overlapping trusted validator lists. Those operators must remain willing to support the network. Avoiding the subsidy transition is a meaningful design advantage. It doesn’t establish universal superiority or guarantee a future market ranking. For $XRP, the stronger case comes from explaining how the infrastructure works and showing why people need the asset. #XRPL #Bitcoin #Blockchain

195 BTC a month on 13.85 EH/s is about 0.47 BTC per EH/s per day. Revenue is easy to model. The hard part is the power bill and how many new shares paid for the rigs.
📈 NIP Group have announced another MASSIVE expansion of their Bitcoin mining operations Once fully deployed, their mining operations are expected to generate approximately 195 BTC per month, worth around $16 MILLION at current Bitcoin prices This expansion could make NIP Group one of the largest publicly traded Bitcoin mining operators in the world Is NIP becoming the richest organization in esports? 👀

Tesla reports earnings after the US market closes on October 21. One earnings release. Multiple interpretations. Profitability, macro conditions, market sentiment, and risk can all lead to different conclusions. The question isn’t just what Tesla reports. It’s what those numbers could change. This is the kind of research DI Event Engine is designed to support. Start with a question: “Which parts of the market’s view of Tesla could this report change?” DI Event Engine structures the event and coordinates selected AI research perspectives. Each perspective independently examines the question, challenges other interpretations, and connects its findings to supporting evidence. The intended output goes beyond a summary: • Evidence-linked judgments — distinguishing verified facts, inferences, and unverified claims. • Multiple AI perspectives — highlighting where different analyses agree, disagree, or require further evidence. • Conditional scenarios — exploring potential market implications and the assumptions that could invalidate each assessment. • Traceable research process — preserving the evidence and reasoning so the analysis can be reviewed as new information emerges. One event. Multiple perspectives. One reviewable research process. We’re building DI Event Engine to make intelligence more transparent, structured, and actionable. Not just what the conclusion is, but how it was reached, where it is challenged, and what evidence could change it. Explore the architecture: whitepaper.di.xyz/

Home miner question: what is your real all-in kWh price, and is it lower than what your pool fee costs you? A 3,645 W Antminer S21 XP burns about 87.5 kWh a day, so every cent per kWh is roughly $0.87 a day. That is the lever people skip while arguing about 1% vs 2% pool fees. Where does your power rate sit? #Bitcoin #Mining #ASIC #Hashrate

$1,000 a month on a card is $12,000 a year. At 1.5% back that is $180. At 4.5% it is $540. At up to 6% it is $720. That gap is what @useTria's three tiers are priced around, with annual fees from $25 to $250 and monthly caps on the top rate. Run your own spend before you pick a tier, not after. @Plasma Lite at 2% is $240 for $0 a year if you can get in. #CryptoCard #Cashback #Stablecoins

Heading to Buenos Aires for a month and want a crypto card that keeps my spend. @Plasma Lite is $0 with 2% back (paid in XPL), @useTria Virtual starts at 1.5% in USDT, @ether_fi runs 0.5-3% depending on tier. On $1,000 a month that is roughly $60 to $360 back a year, before fees and caps. Which one is in your wallet? #CryptoCard #Stablecoins #DeFi

Bitcoin difficulty rose 5.92% on 16.10 to 140.58T, the 10th increase of 2026 (TokenPost, 17.10.2026). Network hashrate printed about 1,031 EH/s that week, up from about 961 the week before. What it means for your rig: more hash chasing the same 450 BTC a day (3.125 BTC per block, about 144 blocks), so your share per TH shrinks. Rough math with hashprice near $40/PH/day (an early October figure from MillionMiner): Antminer S21 XP, 270 TH = 0.27 PH 0.27 x $40 = about $10.80 a day gross About $324 a month before power. Your power price decides if that is profit. Check your kWh cost against your machine's efficiency before the next retarget. Where does your rig sit after this adjustment? #Bitcoin #BTC #Mining #Hashrate

Tria, Kast or Plasma One: which crypto card pays you the most? Per their homepages on 18.10.2026: @useTria says up to 6%, @Plasma says up to 4%, @KASTxyz says up to 3%. Look at the words "up to". That is the ceiling, not your rate. Your real number depends on the tier, the monthly cap and what the reward is paid in. The ceiling math at $1,000 a month in spend: 3% = $360 a year 4% = $480 a year 6% = $720 a year A $360 gap between top and bottom. You only collect it if you actually land in the top band. Before you pick, find the rate for your own spend level, not the one on the banner. Which card are you on, and what do you really get back? #CryptoCards #Cashback #Stablecoins #DeFi

A 100 TH/s miner at 20 J/TH pulls 2,000 W. That is 1,440 kWh a month. At $0.05 per kWh the bill is $72. At $0.10 it is $144. At $0.15 it is $216. Efficiency gets the headline, your power rate decides the margin. What rate are you on? #Bitcoin #BTCMining #ASIC #Hashprice
