I truly enjoyed Twitter.
It was a platform I derived immense value from and one I enjoyed putting value back into.
As X, I have no interest in adding any value. I'll vote with my feet. You can find me elsewhere (Bsky, Threads, Mastadon)
So long and thanks for all the fish.

This gloved hand holds life-sized models of nuclear fuel pellets with their injection rod. Each pellet can produce the same energy as 3 tons of coal, so this handful equals ~60 tons of coal or ~28,000 m³ of gas or ~34,000 liters of oil [source, read more: buff.ly/3OJxjV5]

If you had done your job, America's governors wouldn't have been forced to fend for themselves to find tests in the middle of a pandemic, as we successfully did in Maryland.

This is not an accident, or an oversight, or a failure of a system.
It is very successful vote suppression.
This drone footage shows a long line of voters waiting to cast ballots in Atlanta on Tuesday. Georgia election officials, poll workers and voters have reported major trouble with voting in Atlanta and elsewhere.

Do your beer stores not allow buying individuals from any 6-pack? That's become more common here.

Beyond this, gaining an understanding of the context can turn team members into "advocates."
Yesterday, I was an advocate against master/slave terminology.
Today, I am an advocate against just 'master' in database/clustering context.
Tomorrow holds new understanding.

I hope you can soon find a role in an organization that values you and covering these issues... and I hope that it is spectacular.
Zoom on Android refuses to use Bluetooth connected sound. Does anyone have this issue and a possible work around?
The little speaker icon in the upper left seems to flip between speakerphone and handset speaker despite having a Bluetooth symbol.
Sadly, both "revolutionary" and "terrorists" and it can change over time.
This would certainly qualify as terrorism today. My hope as that, in the future, we still look back on them as terrorists.
There's myriad insenitive terminology in tech.
When I ask for context, I'm not defending it. I'm learning to decide if and what I should:
change going forward,
retroactively fix,
encourage others to do,
outright not accept
Context is my guide.

To recenter this. This was about 'tech' not specifically about databases or clusters.
The discussion, as it turned, did a good job of hilighting why it carries insensitivity in the database world.
Should I go rename all my master branches in git? I'm not *yet* convinced.
