Safe and quality-assured medical products are essential to effective healthcare and the achievement of Universal Health Coverage. Pharmacy and Poisons Board Chief Executive Officer Dr. Ahmed I. Mohamed joined Cabinet Secretary for Health Hon. Aden Duale in a consultative meeting with Amref Health Africa, led by Chief Executive Officer Dr. Githinji Gitahi, to discuss areas of collaboration in the health sector. The engagement provided an opportunity to highlight the importance of strong regulatory systems in protecting patients and supporting reliable access to safe, quality and effective health products. The discussions also covered primary healthcare, digital health, community health services, workforce development and emergency preparedness, alongside Amref’s support for the Every Woman Every Newborn Everywhere Acceleration Plan. Coordination between government and partners, guided by national priorities, remains important in strengthening health systems and improving care for Kenyans.
