The cost of intelligence is 100x cheaper than it was two years ago if you measure correctly.

Instead of fearing that AI will take your job, imagine and experiment with new kinds of sorceries and wild magic that is possible now. There will always be employers for those who know the dark arts.

Software engineers love saying that AI-generated code is unmaintainable. But let's not pretend the code humans have been writing for the last 30 years has been some masterpiece of maintainability.

"AI makes mistakes." So does your doctor. So does your accountant. So does the guy who did your plumbing. The difference is AI gets better every three weeks. Your doctor doesn't.

I think it's time to retire the term "vibe coding" and to stop saying "I had Claude/Codex build XYZ" (I still keep saying it) At this point, when you say "I built XYZ" it's understood that you didn't write the code yourself. It's been a great term for a short era, @karpathy :)

The genesis token
I just built a *functioning* React app by describing what I wanted to GPT-3. I'm still in awe.

Tried Granola's voice dictation app. Works exactly, or maybe even better than WisprFlow, but completely FREE. I've tried to look for WisprFlow alternatives for a long time, but none of the free ones worked as good as WisprFlow. For the first time, there is a better alternative.

you must overcome ai-induced ego death: the sooner you accept that the models are smarter than you, the sooner you’ll see your true value was never just your intelligence and you'll be so much happier

The real AI psychosis is thinking "this is just another tool" or "it's just a stochastic parrot" and "humans still need to review every line". You gotta snap out of it.

“hey claude, production broke, fix it.” why are so many of you stuck on the idea that you need to understand the code to fix it?
Vibe coding is fun until production breaks. Do you understand the code well enough to fix it?
