The hard truth is this will likely fail and the Amazon will cross its tipping point.
The Brazilian Amazon is larger than Western Europe and in just 20 years, we’ve lost an area the size of Germany.
Current tools fail us. Satellites are essentially autopsies, they report the damage days after it’s done, with little to no data on the perpetrators themselves. A tree takes decades to grow but minutes to burn.

A couple decades ago, way too many school districts cut vocational programs to chase test scores and the philosophy that ‘everyone must go to college’.

Wow! @dwarkesh_sp had an amazing story on his concern about his family history for prostate cancer and so he exported his 23andMe data to @nucleusgenomics to find out how was he was in the 97th!! percentile for his genetic risk. He now knows to get earlier screening for the disease — something that may materially improve his lifespan.
