An early Valentine's present for you from the Systems Biology Lab @ALIFE_VU. Sweet dreams... and genome-scale models are made of this.
We have collected our best (and worst) practices into a practical guide on the art of genome-scale modeling.

Finally putting some of the recent adventures on display. On the 8-11th July, we held the 3rd summer school of Economic Principles in Cell Biology @economic_cell. Together with @daja_sz we gave a lecture on our chapter "An inventory of cell components". – at Paris, France
It was a cozy, interdisciplinary, and jolly symposium, meeting a lot of fellow colleagues (some of them - after 4 years of Zooming). We hope to revamp the program and also change the venue for the next year - Vienna, we kindly ask to unveil your hospitality in all of its beauty! – at Paris, France
And a shameless plug - if you are reading this, and feel like you should be a part of this community (especially the informal part of it) please have a look and let us/me know: principlescellphysiology.org…

Are you interested in mutualisms?
Have you always wondered how these cooperative interactions emerge and coevolve?
If the answer to these questions is YES, then please consider joining my vibrant group as a PhD student.
Please RT.

@JohannesMeiser and I wrote this short piece to raise awareness about how present metabolomics data. We hope you will find it useful. Any comment is welcome! thanks @DanielKlimmeck for the support!
Today we present the first public version of what we call a 'GEM handbook', and invite you to have a look on the lab's website: teusinkbruggemanlab.nl/our-t…

New preprint! 📰
Using metabolic pathway analysis, we enumerated metabolite exchanges in microbial metabolic models and found a surprising hierarchy of formal pathway definitions.
Amazing job by Ylva Wedmark getting to the bottom of all this 😀
