gpt-6.1-terra just did 4 hours of continuous browser use roughly averaging 1 action per second WTF This would've literally taken me a full working week And the crazy thing: it only took 10% of my Pro 500 plan weekly usage limit WTFFFFF

By popular request, you can now text your dot. Give it a task to take off your plate or something to keep an eye on, using text, photos, or even voice notes. It will text you proactively with relevant updates. Safe, secure texting via iMessage or RCS. You’re the only one who can text your dot, and your dot can only text you. Rolling out now as a preview for Pro users in the US.

If you’re primarily using ChatGPT for writing, editing documents etc , it makes sense to try Terra as a default for a few days and see how it feels
GPT-6.1 Terra: delivering fast and capable computer use at a lower price. GPT-6.1 Terra understands what’s on screen, takes action across apps, writes naturally, and is a more capable model for your whole workday with the efficiency to take on more of it.

OpenAI's computer-using agents can now operate almost any app the way a person does, clicking and typing through software that never got an API, and the team building them says they're close to beating expert humans on speed. Ari Weinstein works on OpenAI's consumer computer use products, and James Sun works on the enterprise side. Both were startup founders before joining OpenAI. They join a16z's Seema Amble and Fabrizio Serafini to discuss what OpenAI's Astra model changed for computer use, the controls enterprises need for agents they can no longer watch, why computer use works as a universal API for legacy ERPs and finance systems, and why they think cheap software will push UI to get better and more personal. 0:50 What Astra changed for computer use 3:23 Consumer vs. enterprise computer use 5:43 How James runs his workday with Dots 8:06 When computer use becomes superhuman 10:01 How much autonomy to give agents 11:36 What agents mean for ad-supported sites 13:51 Computer use as the universal API 17:21 Getting enterprises to trust agents 20:22 Why the best use cases are the boring ones 25:37 Why UI isn't going away 32:38 Advice for founders building on agents 37:31 Making computer use feel coherent 40:57 Computer use's scaling moment YouTube: youtu.be/9v42ZOdiBJY @AriX @JamesZmSun @OpenAI @seema_amble @fabserafini

Roughly 24 hours ago we concluded the Berlin @OpenAIDevs DevDay Hackathon! Over 245 people joined us on two floors in the @circuit_ber startup house. Within 8 hours participants had the chance to build amazing projects, no matter if technical or non technical. In the end, 73 projects were submitted across the Developer and Founder/GTM tracks. 3 teams per track won a lot of API & Codex credits. As well as 10 tickets to the DevDay Berlin tomorrow! For me it honestly was a huge amount of stress and hassle! I straight up ran around the location from 8 am to 7pm and tried to put out as many fires as possible. We had a lot of typical hackathon things go wrong as usual haha Wifi was spotty and going down, credit distribution was flaky but in the end we managed to persevere. I was lucky to have an amazing team of supporters on location that was pitching in and honestly handling so much work that I could've never done without them. This day showed how important real life interaction still is and how much I personally still can learn about making this experience enjoyable for everyone. Thank you to the brilliant ambassadors who were there: @DFinsterwalder (from Göppingen) @mrlesk (from Vienna) @laraavci_ (from Munich) @janpfrenger (from Frankfurt) @artur_wala (from Warsaw) as well as the wonderful extra supporters: @_Ms_Stacy, Eleni Koukidou, Jérémy Grandillon and tons of other people who helped out on the event Special thank you also to the absolute legendary OpenAI folks who showed up: @paw_lean: for making this event possible in the first place and being a beam of inspiration for everyone on the event @reach_vb: for starting this community program and also showing up at this event! and @TilmanResch for dropping by for a few minutes and being the OpenAI GTM legend he is And thank you to @rhiannon_io who unfortunately couldn't make it to the event but helped immensely to actually let this come together and deliver goodies for so many people from the US to Europe. Thank you to @Qu1nn_web3, Kushal Singh and the rest of the location staff for managing the different event fires with me and making sure the whole event is well caffeinated. And thank you to @Son_of_a_Pigeon, the best event photographer ever, for the most insane and awe-inspiring pictures from the day. To even greater hackathons and more insane projects Max PS: Excited for the OpenAI DevDay Berlin tomorrow!

ICYMI we majorly refreshed the Codex CLI at DevDay and it continues to get better each day
Replying to @thsottiaux
On codex cli updates. We've added reusable prompt presets, inline model and permission settings, and enterprise MCP sign-in. We've also fixed failures when resuming long sessions and added Windows corporate-proxy authentication. Surprisingly the CLI has grown 2X in usage since devday.

Dots + Space is a goated combo. Disco, my work dot, has basically implemented the entire Getting Things Done system in ChatGPT Space. He maintains it live based on what's going on across all my work apps and proactively suggests things to take on. This is the most organized I've felt, ever!

This video was edited entirely in the cloud using @HyperFrames_ and coordinated by my dot using an automatic feedback loop in our internal review app Cutroom. Romain would review an edit, mark it as "feedback ready", my dot picks that up and then kicks off a new revision!
The Decisions API is now generally available! To celebrate, I had Codex reimagine a very important app… 🌭

Turns out building with @ChatGPT Sites is pretty addicting. So is clicking cookies. 🍪 I made a little demo that does both, with a database and an MCP server so ChatGPT and Codex can join in. Come hang out. I hope it gives you an idea for something fun to build. Chapters: 00:00 A cookie clicker for humans and AI 00:27 The prompt I started with 00:41 Saving clicks in a database 01:16 Adding MCP tools 01:29 MCP in plain language 02:09 Testing with MCP Inspector 03:11 Asking ChatGPT for the click count 03:40 Clicking a cookie with Codex CLI 04:10 What will you build?

An update here: we’re upgrading all Codex for OSS grants to Pro 200! There will still be the 10,000 grants in this round, now at the higher tier. (If you've already received a grant, the upgrade should be reflected automatically.) Applications are still open :)
We started Codex for OSS six months ago. Today, we’re renewing the program with $100 Pro plans and doubling the number of grants (from 5,000 to 10,000) to reach more maintainers. (If you received a grant previously, we encourage you to re-apply!) openai.com/form/codex-for-os…

Day 16/ You can now cache for 12h in the API and for logged in users across Codex & Work we keep cache forever and you don’t have any penalty for coming back to an old conversation or resuming after a few hours and are now guaranteed to hit the cache.
You can now choose 12-hour prompt caching in the API. Persistent agents, like dots, reuse context throughout the day. You can keep shared instructions, tools, and context cached longer and pay the lower cached-input rate, even when requests are hours apart.

I'm excited to share that WebMCP is now enabled for MCP Apps in ChatGPT Desktop! 🚀 @OpenAI is also collaborating with modelcontextprotocol.io to make WebMCP the default way for agents to interact with MCP Apps. Another big step toward a more seamless agentic web!

So far Dots > Muse Really like the Muse app but the model is dumb. Surfaces trivial emails and not smart enough to independently take on substantial projects Dots is smart enough for me to trust it
