Hand-eye calibration on a Franka with RealSense cameras can be surprisingly brittle. After stitching together franka_ros2 + MoveIt Calibration a few times, I got tired of the setup overhead and built a unified repo for it. No Docker. No system ROS 2 install. One repo. Clone it, run pixi install, and start calibrating eye-in-hand or eye-to-hand. 🚀 MoveIt 2 Tutorials: 100% Pixi-fied! I recently discovered an interesting tool called pixi by @prefix_dev . The promise of no system-wide ROS2 installation immediately caught my attention. 🤷‍♂️ As a ROS 2 novice, I don't favor tedious installations. 🛡️ As a purist, I hate installing ROS 2 system-wide. 🥱 As a lazy dev, I don't want to build a Docker container. I wanted something as simple as pip install or uv sync, but for ROS 2. Since I was told the best way to learn is to get my hands dirty, I decided to see if I could turn @PickNikRobotics 's moveit2 humble tutorial into a "pixi-fied" repo. It turns out, you can! It required a few patches, but the joy of seeing RViz finally pop up was incredible! I've built a PoC that manages everything, humble, moveIt, and compilers inside a pixi environment.
