The journey from Ibadan to Itasa takes more than four hours. From the community to the forest where mining sites are located is like riding to the edge of the earth.
A long, winding road that cuts through rust-colored fields and forgotten villages, where the air grows heavy, and the trees seem to whisper warnings from the past.
And then—Itasa, Iwajowa LGA, Oyo State.
A place of paradox.
Where the earth is heavy with precious minerals, yet the people live with empty hands and heavier hearts.
Where voices rise not in celebration of wealth, but in protest of abandonment.
For decades, the soil has been giving—but the people say they have received nothing in return.

Kenny Ogunmiloro, General Manager of Blast FM, has addressed growing concerns over the responsibility of radio stations in airing potentially misleading adverts, especially those promoting forex/crypto.
