ALT This past weekend there was severe flooding in the B-Facility at Salinas Valley State Prison. Every 15 minutes people had to squeegee their cells. They are losing sleep. Their normal patterns of sleep are being disrupted. They are suffering respiratory problems, especially prisoners with asthma. People are not being given clean blankets. It’s cold, its freezing. Family and loved ones on the outside are outraged by this. This is cruel, unusual, and inhumane treatment. All of our eyes are on this situation at SVSP. This has been an ongoing issue for multiple years now, and each year storm season it gets worse. An investigation into the living conditions in this facility must be conducted. You will see rampant neglect and violation of basic human rights. We will not stand around and let you torture and kill our loved ones. As more storms approach, we are demanding that CDCR internal affairs, Salinas Valley State Prison, and any other officials address the flooding in B Facility.
