Patrick Stewart reveals how his attorney bought Professor X’s wheelchair at auction then made the X-Men studio pay to use it again. After the first X-Men movie wrapped, the studio auctioned off the wheelchair Stewart used to play Professor X. One of his personal attorneys bought it and placed it behind his desk. But when X-Men 2 came around, the studio wanted the wheelchair back. Sir Patrick Stewart: β€œThe studio says, β€˜So, you know, we can use the chair again.’ Oops, no, we can’t, it’s been sold.” β€œThis attorney rented it back to the studio for a significant sum.” Conan O’Brien: β€œI got to hire this guy.
