The group called the allegation unfortunate, misleading and politically motivated. It pointed to publicly circulating video footage that, in its words, shows some of the youths involved waving APC flags. It says Adamu is not identified in that footage as being involved in the disruption. It also asked the Sule-led government to explain how it linked the former IGP to the incident, and faulted it for making such serious allegations against a governorship candidate without credible evidence. The group described Adamu's campaign as peaceful, issue-based and free of reported violence. While backing a thorough investigation, the group insisted it must be impartial, professional and fact-driven. It wants the DSS to establish the identities and affiliations of those involved before naming any sponsors.
