BC's Premier Designate @LDoerkson says he is eager to begin diving into the state of the province's finances and the $13.8 billion deficit. Speaking to CBC News this am Doerkson says "I am concerned the deficit is even larger than we know or think".
reframe on the election: david eby is an ultra-left accelerationist and a historically progressive force who is deploying the tools of dialectical materialism to make the contradictions of capitalism more blatant

So…it’s not the immigrants who are responsible for the housing crisis. It’s capitalism.
Opinion: Let’s call Canada’s housing crisis what it is: a purposeful, profit-driven industry where people get left behind theglobeandmail.com/opinion/…
I, for one, condone her antics

You condone her antics. Shameful. Using seniors citizens outdoor recreation equipment for silly videos. You really need to grow up if you don’t see this is shameful there is something really wrong with you. That is not what this equipment was installed for.

I mean if you have to collapse an entire party’s support structure into your own to still lose an election. Without doing anything to earn those votes mind you.
Ya, it is kinda nothing.
Today broke grey and raw for New Democrats here in BC: last night was a body blow.
This morning I’m sending solidarity and care to all the progressive organizers - within and beyond electoral politics - who have worked tirelessly over so many years in this province.
It is thanks to your unending effort that we have won and defended all our social gains: queer and disability rights, Indigenous rights, childcare and public health, working conditions and unionization, universal public services and more.
None of these victories came without struggle. And that struggle must continue now, to protect them in every way we can.
But not today. Today is a day to feel all the feelings, find comfort and get some rest.
Tomorrow we rise to fight again.

This is AWESOME news! 💚
BC Green Party leader Emily Lowan has won her riding!
Emily will be an incredible voice for the people of British Columbia, and I'm excited to see her bring her passion, compassion, and determination to the Legislature.
BC needs more voices like hers! 💚👏

You can't blame this loss on Green 'vote splitting'
1. The BC NDP called the early election, so that's 100% on them
2. The Greens support Proportional Representation, so they actually want to fix this system
3. The ONLY vote splits in recent memory were right-wing Liberals splitting the vote in 2011 Federally, and in 2018-2024 Ontario.
4. The BC CON win was so big, even a collapsed Green vote wouldn't have mattered.
The left doesn't split votes: Liberals do, and moderates are the ones who elect right-wing governments.

i’m already seeing people blame this loss on the greens and i am telling you to shut the fuck up. the greens are not why the BC NDP lost this election, vote splits are only affecting a very small number of ridings. the BC NDP lost on their own accord. they’re bleeding everywhere.

Watching hardcore BCNDP supporters blame everyone except the megalomaniac who did this is a trip.

Crazy thing about Eby is that he literally didn't have to do ANY of this shit. Heard him described as constantly searching for things to Pragmatically Sacrifice. His staff is a hot mess of rando lawyers giving shitty advice. Most Democrat-coded Canadian politician I've ever seen.
the greens are so important that they determine the outcome of an election but not important enough to make meaningful concessions to or to even court.
