Today I had the pleasure of mowing Miss Durham’s lawn. It’s always great seeing her. She’s doing well. I finished up in the rain. Making a difference, one lawn at a time

“[12] For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. ” Hebrews 4:12 NIV bible.com/bible/111/heb.4.12…

Sadly, I woke up to some heartbreaking news this morning here in Baton Rouge , Louisiana. Someone broke into my van overnight, shattered two windows, stole a lawnmower, and ransacked everything inside. It’s honestly heartbreaking and deflating, especially when you’re simply trying to do good and make a difference. I can’t understand why someone would do something like this. I’ve contacted the police, and I’m currently waiting for them to arrive and process the van for fingerprints. Unfortunately, this means I won’t be able to attend the Louisiana Book Festival today as planned. I was really looking forward to meeting everyone and sharing my books, but right now, I’m just trying to process everything that happened.

Thought this was reasonable.
In response to the large amount of personal messages I’ve received about the recent announcement of the FORTRESS initiative announced by the pentagon Ive decided to share my thoughts publicly in the video below to bring a little clarity and perspective on the matter.

The ends do not justify the means. Your quest for power in the name of.... Whatever you want to call it... Does not justify immoral action. There is truth. It is divine.

Thomas joined the 50 Yard Challenge in 2022 and proudly completed it the following year. His story began when his mother first learned about our program while they were living in Africa. At the time, they couldn’t take part—but Thomas never forgot it. Months later, when their family moved to the United States and stayed with his grandparents in Pennsylvania, he finally got his chance. He signed up in August 2022 and worked hard, finishing all 50 lawns by January 2023. Shortly after earning his black shirt, Thomas and his family returned to Africa—mission accomplished. Now the question is: could your child be next? To join, all they need to do is create a sign that says “I Accept the 50 Yard Challenge.” Then they’ll mow 50 lawns for free for those in need—elderly, disabled, single parents, veterans, first responders, and active-duty military in their community. For every 10 lawns, they earn a new shirt—starting with white and moving through orange, green, blue, and red—until they reach 50 and receive their black shirt. When they complete the challenge, they’re awarded a brand-new mower, weed eater, and blower. The challenge runs all year and isn’t limited to mowing—snow shoveling and leaf raking count too. Kids from around the country are welcome to participate. So kids… are you ready to step up and make a difference? Sign up here: bit.ly/50yardsignup
