I think of all the amazing people I've met.
I realise most of the planet will never meet any of them.
I did.
I am grateful.

Absolutely.
I just lost 80 lbs fasting over the past year. One of the greatest lies of modernity is that you should eat every day.

‼️ Google won't fix an Android bug that lets one invisible text crash a phone's calling service, researcher Mark Blaszczyk says.
So he just released the Proof-of-Concept!
The malformed message never reaches the inbox and needs no user interaction. It drops active calls, emergency calls included.
He says about 30 sent in a row corrupt the phone's SMS database, so a Pixel 9 or Samsung Galaxy crashes on every boot. A factory reset only helps until the carrier delivers the texts again.
He reported it to Google on 5 May. Google closed it as "Won't Fix" and a "Non-Security Issue".

With AI, we're reaching a problem where we have an abundance of cheap games that are not all that interesting to play but that look kindof complete and nice graphically. Gaming slop.
Even with AI, building a game that is worth playing is still a multi-year, full time project that includes aspects of marketing, community management, and maintenance that most people are unwilling to engage in.
You'll see a lot of games on Steam in the coming years with about 5 reviews and close to no active players. No one will even know if the game is worth playing.
This is why America is the most important country on Earth. The first amendment is the first and last line of defence against this kind of crap and you cannot expect to fix or improve a world where you cannot receive or share ideas without the threat of state punishment.
🚨BREAKING: All Britons may need ID to use social media, the UK's online safety regulator today announces
“This plan for a government ‘social media ban’ is a national ID system by the back door.
Both the government and Ofcom have admitted that children will get around the ban, which means the real effect will be normalising adults and children alike to hand over their passports just to get online.
Hundreds of thousands of people without ID, who tend to be poorer people, and many more who don’t want to risk handing their passports over to foreign tech companies will be locked out of huge parts of the internet.
The plan will kill anonymity online, whilst the UK’s culture of speech policing is reaching a crisis point. The policy is painfully misguided, an Orwellian assault on free speech and privacy, and will make children no safer at all.
The false illusion that children aren’t on social media will cause the companies to abandon all their child safety measures. The Government could be promoting meaningful safety measures and supporting parental controls that genuinely protect children - instead, they’re demanding government ID from the whole population just for uncensored internet access. It is authoritarian madness.”

Before iTunes and musician endorsements,
before the magic of features, Apple had
the magic of being problem-free.
Apple's selling point and aura came from
the peace of mind and quality it promised.
After the last week it's sad to see.

What it feels like when you start using a Chinese model and it actually just does what you want without a fucking condescending moral lecture.
Painful design; such wasted potential; a forced L.
This is like adding a shitty cartoon rocket to a nebula theme.

LEAKED: MICROSOFT'S CLOUD + AI CHIEF TELLS EMPLOYEES "WE WANT TO BRING MORE TALENT INTO THE UNITED STATES."
That is Scott Guthrie in his division's internal AMA, two days after Microsoft offered buyouts to about 60,000 employees and a week after the US Gov’t suspended their PERM filings.
He told visa and green card holders Microsoft will "continue to sponsor" them.
He said Microsoft is "working with the US administration to get clarity," and "we're not sure that everyone's looked at the right data."
Claude and other AI have already been used to vibehack and phish multiple governments several times over the past 2 years.
It'll only ramp up and that's not mentioning that these are attacks from small groups and individuals. Imagine what state intelligence will be capable of.
