Including US territories, Hurricane #Ian's 150mph is now tied for the 9th strongest US landfall in history, as measured by sustained wind speed. Of these 16 storms (including ties), 6 have occurred in the past 5 years. We are in a climate emergency.

Good morning, Seminole County Public Schools Students and Families. As the path of Hurricane Ian has become more clear, we are making arrangements for a more serious weather event. As a result, Seminole County Public Schools will be closed for all students and staff beginning Wednesday, September 28th and continuing through Friday, September 30th. KidZone & Beyond and 21st Century sites will operate as normal on Tuesday, September 27th. All other after-school events are cancelled for Tuesday, September 27th. Student Make-Up Days: The student make-up days will be: January 2, 2023 January 3, 2023 March 20, 2023 Shelter sites and opening hours will be shared by the Seminole County Office of Emergency Management by Wednesday, September 28th. Additional updates will be provided as necessary. In the meantime, we encourage everyone to make appropriate preparations and stay safe.
