People still naively think that hyuna's sexual assault is just something that randomly happened instead of it being a natural symptom of luka's possessiveness, entitlement and sense of ownership over her. SA doesn't happen in a vacuum, there is an entire system behind it.

The ways in which you word and speak about things are always important. With that said, please stop referring to incest as 'icky' and 'gross,' when it is child abuse, predation, and rape. Watering it down this way dismisses it as such and thus it is further trivialized.

i am realising how many people don't actually enjoy creating and suddenly the amount of ai in fan spaces starts to make sense

This ao3 discourse is really highlighting to me that a lot of people genuinely believe “you will create and get nothing and be happy” is a sustainable model for fanfiction.

You guys know that Ao3 is not a real archive right? Like they chose that word as a political statement to justify hosting unmoderated content as “archiving” works, but legally they don’t operate like one and their practices don’t follow archival sciences criteria at all.

Guys just a general warning, if you’re a minor do not follow or engage with anyone who calls you their “internet kid” 90% of the time they’re trying to take advantage of kids. Please stay safe

It’s so insane that yall think censorship starts with porn and not actual minorities suffering through oppressive violence

WE. LITERALLY. FUCKING. TOLD. YOU. Censorship is ALWAYS a slippery slope. It will NOT END at the stuff you find icky or gross.

You’d think ao3 was the library of Alexandria instead of a fanfiction site

something something about corporations inserting themselves into the business of ao3, one of the last anti censorship, capitalism-free and ad-free places on the internet. #ao3outage

there's a possibility the spider society headquarters used to be the alchemax building in miguel's dimension, which by the end of the comic goes up in flames. so maybe this screencap foreshadows a similar conclusion, symbolizing miguel escaping his father's influence for good

Any time anyone says "I'm becoming Pro X just because Y is annoying", they were already Pro X and are just revealing it now in a way that puts blame on Y.

it's strange to me that people are snarkily announcing that they'll gladly gatekeep their thanks or praise towards fanfic authors. why do you have so little respect towards writing as a craft while simultaneously enjoying it so much ?
raika ★ (@wintereader_) profile pictureraika ★@wintereader_Oct 30
am I being too harsh or "without the author gaining any site engagment" is absolutely stupid? ao3 is an archive, not a social media or a fic site. you shouldnt care about "gaining" anything.

its so absurd seeing fandom people talk about "censorship" and ao3 the same day my best friend tells me about a poet that was killed and tortured by a government for being a dissident

wait actually does anybody know the context of this meme i use it all the time but i’m scared it’s one of those cases where like a black person’s entire family was brutally murdered and somebody turned it into a meme for some reason

We estimate that service restoration for #AO3 will take around 2 weeks but it could be up to 4 weeks. We are hopeful that we will be able to bring the site back up in a degraded state sooner. Refer to our status page for updates: otwstatus.org/
