Eu tinha sido reprovado na escola, e meu pai me mandou trabalhar para um ex-DJ dele que tinha uma oficina em Borgonuovo, na província de Bolonha, e que, pelo que parecia, também era piloto. A oficina, naquela época, se chamava Antonelli Sport... e não sei se aquilo deveria ser uma punição, mas, para alguém que gostava de motores como eu, acabou sendo mais um presente.
Vinte anos se passaram, mas alguns detalhes ficaram gravados na minha memória até hoje. Lembro de uma torneira para limpar peças do motor, da qual saía, acho, gasolina, e que sempre derretia minhas luvas de látex. Lembro da dor nas mãos quando Fausto (o chefe da oficina, acho que era esse o nome dele) me fazia soltar os parafusos enferrujados do cárter de óleo... Lembro das prateleiras com os Alfa 147 GT de corrida, brancos e azuis, e de um Peugeot de rali do qual tiramos o motor e desmontamos o câmbio... da lendária cama dobrável no escritório para tirar uma soneca durante a pausa do almoço...
E então lembro de ter visto a esposa de Marco com o barrigão de grávida e de que, um dia, Fausto me disse que Kimi tinha nascido.
Depois do verão, voltei para a escola e falei muitas vezes sobre aquela experiência fantástica, exaltando Marco como o melhor piloto italiano, sem ter a menor ideia do que o filho dele acabaria se tornando. Alguns anos atrás, me gabando para alguém do meio automobilístico de ter trabalhado na Antonelli Sport, essa pessoa me respondeu: “O filho dele também manda bem!” E eu, sem dar muita importância, respondi algo como: “Ah, ok!”
Depois, um dia, meu pai me liga e diz: “O filho do Antonelli estreou na F1!”
Eu ainda estou sem palavras, mas é graças ao Kimi que voltei a acompanhar este esporte, e ainda não consigo acreditar que aquela criança daquela pequena oficina hoje tenha se tornado o campeão mundial mais jovem de todos os tempos, fazendo história neste esporte.
Obrigado, Kimi, você emocionou todos nós! E obrigado, Marco, sem você isso jamais teria acontecido! Vocês são uma família linda, merecem isso, e é bonito ver vocês de todos os cantos do planeta!
P.S.: Caramba, se o pai era rápido, imaginem o filho! 😭
