The new Vana App is now live. It sits behind the apps you use. When one of them asks for your data, you see exactly what it wants and decide. Say yes and the data moves with your permission, and the move is recorded. See it work in OpenPet: connect an Oura Ring, get a pet that reads your sleep back to you. Trying it this week earns XP. AI agents can only help you if they know about you. And what they know is your data. So who moves it, and who decides? That was the question at Builder Nights Seoul with @MetaMask, @lfdecentralized and @0xTicker. @juliangordonhk8 opened on who is already building this. LF Decentralized Trust counts ten central banks among its members, including the Bank of Korea. It also hosts the standard Vana wrote for how personal data moves. On the first panel, @francescoswiss and the MetaMask team talked about agents moving from trading to doing everyday things for you. For that, an agent needs your data, and you need to stay in charge of it. On the second, @sheila_warren and the panel made a harder point. Regulators everywhere are talking about digital public infrastructure and decentralization. It’s a natural fit for Web3, but very few Web3 projects are in the room. Web3 doesn’t need to invent new use cases. It needs to meet the ones that already exist. Which projects do you see showing up for this work?

How we use Zama ? → Every NFT mints sealed and is encrypted onchain using Zama’s FHE. → The contract computes on data it can never read. → Its look and essence are determined by FHE randomness. Nobody gets to choose. Not even us. 🟨 Built with FHE on @zama.

It pays to be a team player on Vana. Second place has more goals, but the leader is crushing it on assists: data their app brought to the network that other apps read. Nice work @ram_krish2000

Zashapon: Digital theme park for Zama Protocol <Turn FHE usage into games, rewards, and status> @zashapon is a digital theme park where you earn tickets by using confidential apps on @zama, then spend them on gashapon machines for NFT rewards. It's the gamification layer that makes FHE adoption fun instead of technical. Live on testnet now. The insight: users don't adopt protocols, they adopt experiences. Zashapon makes FHE participation feel like entertainment, not work. The flywheel: use confidential apps → earn tickets → play gashapon → get rewards → flex/trade → invite friends → repeat -----------> How It Works Use confidential apps: make FHE transactions on apps like confidentialtoken.com Earn tickets: every transaction gives you tickets for participation Spend in Zashapon: use tickets on gashapon machines (digital vending machines) Get rewards: win NFTs, then later: whitelists, perks, access, real-world benefits Collect and flex: build your collection, trade with others, show status -----------> Physical theme parks: ride → collect → show → return with friends Zashapon: use confidential apps → earn tickets → draw → flex/trade → return with crew Launching with confidentialtoken.com machine, expanding to every Zama app Live on Zama testnet: zashapon.com This is how you make privacy tech adoption feel like entertainment, not homework 🎰 Users come for the gashapon, stay for the confidential computing #ZamaCreatorProgram

HCU: Zama's gas meter for encrypted computation <Privacy costs computing power, HCU tracks the bill> TLDR: HCU (Homomorphic Complexity Units) is like gas fees but for encrypted math on @zama. Simple encrypted addition costs 84,000 HCU complex multiplication costs 696,000 HCU. Transaction limit: 20 million HCU, or it reverts. Let me explain: Think of HCU like electricity bills: running your air conditioner costs more than a lightbulb, right? Encrypted math is expensive: adding two private numbers takes way more computing power than adding regular numbers HCU measures the cost: simple operations like addition = 84,000 HCU, complex ones like multiplication = 696,000 HCU Transaction has a limit: 20 million HCU per transaction or it fails Why it exists: prevents people from crashing the network with infinite encrypted calculations -----------> The Cost Breakdown Cheap operations (under 100k HCU): Addition/subtraction on encrypted numbers: 84k-172k HCU Bitwise operations (and/or/xor): 30k-39k HCU Equality checks: 55k-118k HCU Expensive operations (over 500k HCU): Multiplication on 64-bit encrypted numbers: 365k-596k HCU Division: 715k HCU Remainder: 1.15 million HCU 128-bit multiplication: up to 1.7 million HCU Bigger numbers = more cost: 8-bit addition costs 84k HCU, 128-bit addition costs 172k HCU -----------> Why This Matters? Privacy isn't free: keeping data encrypted while computing costs real hardware resources Developers must optimize: can't just spam encrypted operations, need to design efficiently HCU limit forces choices: either refactor code to use fewer operations or split across multiple transactions Different from normal gas: regular Ethereum operations cost pennies, FHE operations cost way more because hardware is crunching encrypted data Trade-off for privacy: you pay higher computational cost to keep everything encrypted end-to-end -----------> Real World Analogy Normal blockchain: like doing math on a whiteboard (everyone sees, super fast, super cheap) Zama with HCU: like doing math inside a locked safe without opening it (private, slower, more expensive) HCU is the safe-cracking cost: simple operations crack easier (lower HCU), complex operations need more work (higher HCU) 20 million HCU limit: you can only crack so many safes per transaction before network says "stop" It's the price of end-to-end encryption on public blockchains #ZamaCreatorProgram

OpenZeppelin x @zama Confidential Contracts v0.3.0 shipped <Production-ready FHE extensions for private smart contracts> @OpenZeppelin just dropped v0.3.0 of Confidential Contracts library with FHEVM 0.9.1 upgrade + ERC-165 + new extensions for real-world assets, access control, and freezable tokens Major upgrade: @fhevm/solidity 0.9.1 brings latest Zama TFHE optimizations and User Decryption patterns Why this matters: developers get battle-tested OpenZeppelin security patterns but for encrypted data onchain -----------> What's New ? FHEVM 0.9.1 integration: latest Zama FHE library with improved performance and ACL patterns ERC-165 support: standard interface detection works with confidential contracts now Omnibus extension: batch operations on encrypted data for gas efficiency Observer Access: granular permissions for who can view encrypted state Restricted extension: programmable transfer restrictions on confidential tokens Freezable: pause/unpause functionality that works on encrypted balances RWA ready: real-world asset tokenization with privacy built in -----------> Use Cases Unlocked Private stablecoins: encrypted balances with freezable/restricted transfers for compliance Confidential RWAs: tokenize real assets with privacy-preserving ownership Private DAOs: voting and treasury with encrypted proposals and balances DeFi with privacy: confidential swaps, lending, derivatives using standard interfaces Enterprise onchain: businesses can finally use public chains with private data -----------> The Bottom Line: OpenZeppelin bringing institutional-grade security patterns to Zama FHE v0.3.0 = developers can build confidential apps with familiar OZ tooling RWA, access control, freezable extensions = real use cases not just demos GitHub: github.com/OpenZeppelin/open… #ZamaCreatorProgram
