Sri Lanka’s colonial flag --featuring a yellow lion on a red background --was updated in 1951 to include orange and green stripes representing Tamil and Muslim minorities. Four Bo leaves were added in 1972. Displaying the old flag today is highly offensive to these communities.
What happens to the poor sods who booked the Racco at Rs. 11.45m at last week’s launch in Colombo, Kandy & Galle? With the price now cut by Rs. 2.70m, will early buyers (1.5K according to Daily News) get a refund - or should they cancell the Racco and buy any Wagon R instead?
A week after unveiling the Racco, BYD’s smallest car, at Rs. 11.45 million — the same price as a brand-new Toyota Raize — JKCG has slashed the price by nearly 25% to Rs. 8.75 million. Still, the Racco makes little sense when many brand-new ICE cars cost far less.
It will be interesting to see who is foolish enough to pay Rs 11.45m for BYD’s smallest EV, the Racco, when an infinitely better brand-new Toyota Wigo costs Rs 2.5m less at Rs 8.95m, and the far superior Raize is just Rs 11.95m. monetabrief.com/news/byd-rac…
