❗️ “Who gave you the right to torture people?” — Ukraine’s National Guard commander faces tough questions
National Guard Commander General Oleksandr Pivnenko arrived at the scene of the controversy in Petropavlivska Borshchahivka, near Kyiv.
He said that four servicemen detained after going AWOL, who needed medical attention, had already been taken to hospital. According to him, the remaining men on the premises are National Guard soldiers.
But those gathered were not satisfied with his explanation. They demanded to know why the men had bruises around their eyes and apparent signs of beatings, accused people inside the building of torture, and called for the release of those allegedly being held there.
