Walking around it always strikes me that the best way to start a real recovery of native woodlands is to allow the pockets which remain to expand naturally.
Presently these are often actively suppressed whilst we pay for woodland creation elsewhere
I made a short video about it
The states is in free fall.
The GRU hacked into Jared Kushner's iPhone. Dutch military intelligence (MIVD) then recruited a GRU spy who gave them access to the hacked phone. What MIVD discovered was that Kushner had access to two bank accounts --one Azerbaijani, the other Israeli --where Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Emirati ruler Mohammed bin Zayed deposited money. It sounds like a slightly far-fetched episode of "Slow Horses," but it's real. And it proves just how eye-poppingly corrupt this administration was and continues to be as its "special envoy" decides the fate of tens of millions in Europe in the Middle East. Simply incredible reporting by Matthew Cole, drawn from his new book on Kushner. vanityfair.com/story/jared-k…
Probably the biggest opportunity we will ever have...
If we can raise €1 million in the next month, we will release €14.7 million for nature restoration in the west of Ireland.

“What about making island life tax-free for Gaeilgeorí, treating the people the way we treat US multinational capital?” Asks @davidmcw
“If we are talking about the Gaeltacht and the language, what about making living on the island tax free for Gaeilgeori? The sums of money would be tiny for a country with an annual budget of €147 billion. We are talking about only a few thousand people initially. The cost is minuscule and the prize, the preservation of a way of life and a language that has been spoken continuously in this part of the country for more than 2,500 years, is enormous.”
The Gaeltacht is being destroyed because we won’t build houses, writes David McWilliams irishtimes.com/opinion/2026/…

putin is a dictator and a war criminal. he has done more damage to the fate of his own nation than any major world leader in generations.
zelenskyy’s crime? the defense of his fellow citizens.
america’s allies understand this, every one of them.
president trump stands alone.
Irish grown tillage crops have been shown to have significantly lower carbon footprints than many imported feed ingredients. Yet Bord Bia’s flagship sustainability programme, Origin Green, still seems unable to meaningfully reward farmers for using them. How does that make sense?

Ukraine is out of Patriot interceptors. Trump is waiving sanctions on Russia to enrich its war machine and blaming Zelenskyy for not wanting to forfeit sovereign territory to an occupation regime of child thieves and rapists. The White House decided to toy with Ukrainian lives this week by throttling satellite internet for a day, just to show an embattled ally who’s boss. If the U.S. is aligning with Russia, then no — Ukraine doesn’t have to play it decorously any longer. This isn’t a fucking cotillion. It’s war. And if Europe doesn’t want to treat it as such, and stand up to the Nero in Washington, then MAGA’s point about NATO and the EU is amply demonstrated. Enough is enough.
I had to go to Ennis for a few hours. Came back and the family were off their heads on club orange and IPA!
"Trolls keep telling me they owe us nothing. Fine, give yourselves the gift of not being child-murder funders."
FT: Isn’t it better for you to make a unilateral declaration that you will not strike Russian refineries, even if Russia continues striking your energy infrastructure, in order to get Trump administration back on side?
Zelenskyy: “If such a moment comes and such a deal requires Ukraine not to respond after Russian attacks, the question is when the next deal will be?
And with all these deals, maybe the next one will be about gas — definitely it will be gas.
Who will get the money? And who will spend this money? And on what? Not to rebuild Ukraine, I think. Not to support us. It will go the opposite way.”
First it will be a diesel deal, then a gas deal, then another deal, and another, deal after deal after deal, until Trump and Putin are fully united in the sweet ecstasy of dealmaking.
And every single cent of that revenue will go directly toward killing Ukrainians. Americans must stop this madness!
Trolls keep telling me they owe us nothing. Fine, give yourselves the gift of not being child-murder funders.

“I would burn down every one of the goddamn refineries that Russia has today. Take them all out. It’s a military target.”
It is the fastest way to end this war, because it is the fastest way to deprive Russia from the means to wage it.

Christ…as someone who has been TB free for a few years I honestly cannot imagine what these lads are going though. I’ve met a few of them and their love of farming is evident in this video. It’s actually frighting as an island where we are on TB right now.
Just retweeting Mike fuckin Pence here
President Trump’s decision to lift sanctions on Russian fuel amidst Putin’s ongoing and brutal attacks on civilian targets in Ukraine makes no sense and is a betrayal of the legacy and leadership of the late Senator Lindsey Graham.
While Ukraine fights for its survival, Putin’s war machine continues to prosecute his terrorist war on civilian populations and innocent Ukrainians are dying every day.
Now, Instead of implementing the tough sanctions Lindsey Graham fought to his last breath to enact, President Trump has announced the United States is lifting sanctions on Russian energy, fueling the Putin’s war machine.
As I saw firsthand in Ukraine last month, Putin is losing this war. Ukraine has fought the Russian military to a standstill and reinvented warfare with drones taking the fight into the heart of Russia.
America should not be throwing a lifeline to Putin’s war machine. Now is the time to stand strong against Russian aggression as we did during the first Trump administration.
Putin doesn’t want peace. Putin wants Ukraine. I have no doubt that if Putin overruns Ukraine, it will only be a matter of time until Russia’s military crosses a border that our troops will have to deal with him.
America is the Leader of the Free World. For our National Security, for the security of our Allies in Europe including Ukraine, President Trump should rescind this deal immediately and return to the strong policies of our four years in the White House; impose harsh sanctions on any nation purchasing Russian energy and work with our allies to ensure Ukraine has the military support it needs to repel and defeat this Russian invasion once and for all. Slava Ukraini🇺🇸🇺🇦

Good to see Donald buy Russian diesel instead of Canadian. I know its right on USA border but they sell imperialist, woke diesel that makes your truck gay.

Trump: "I have just concluded a highly successful discussion with President Vladimir Putin, of Russia, wherein it was agreed that Russia will immediately supply over 300,000 Tons of Diesel Fuel to the American and Global Marketplace, another 500,000 Tons during the month of November, and 1,000,000 Tons immediately thereafter. Additionally, based on the condition of their Diesel Refineries, Russia will then deliver, within a short period of time, 3,000,000 Tons of Diesel Fuel."

Another way to think about Trump announcement today: If he increased US diesel imports from Canada by 4%, he would gain as much fuel as from this Russia deal. But the Canadians are global super-villains, so who wants to buy from them when you could enrich Putin instead?
