We trained a model to predict AI-written blog posts from structural features - and discovered the shape of slop.
On posts it had never seen, it told AI and human apart with 98% accuracy, getting only 19 of 1,740 wrong.

Today we’re releasing the Agentic Task Ecosystem (ATE) dataset: nearly 700K tools from public MCP servers offering a new window into what developers are building AI agents to do.
Our analysis of this ecosystem reveals early patterns in how AI will impact the future of work. This won’t merely depend on AI capabilities, but also on which tasks developers choose to automate and how.

At Meta, code generation reportedly increased 220% year over year after an AI-focused engineering reorg.
Shipped features? Up just 36%. Technical incidents rose 40%. Meta ultimately canceled the second phase of it.
It’s a pretty good example of something I think we’ll see more of: generating more code is not the same as getting more useful work done.
Lots happening and changing in the AI industry every day and as we give AI more of the implementation work, we need better ways to measure whether we’re actually improving the outcome.

Fog creek has been one of my biggest inspirations since I read a few of Joels books on software. While they are old, they are really well written and this is a really interesting blog post about the Tech Scene in NYC in 2005

I was watching an interesting @Bloomberg piece last night about the energy grid. While China's energy cost is high, they have one of the most robust power grids in the world
