When Nehemiah heard that Jerusalem’s walls were in ruins, he didn’t start drawing up plans. He sat down and cried. For days, he fasted and prayed (Nehemiah 1:4). When he finally got to Jerusalem, he still didn’t make a big announcement. He went out at night and walked the broken walls himself, so he could see exactly what they were dealing with. Only then did he call the people together. And what he said is worth noticing: “Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem” (Nehemiah 2:17). Not “watch me.” Let us. So everybody took a section. Families, priests, goldsmiths. A lot of them rebuilt the stretch of wall right outside their own front door. And when people mocked them and threatened them, Nehemiah kept pointing them back to who they were doing it for: “Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome” (Nehemiah 4:14). Pastor, you might be the one carrying the vision. But you were never supposed to lay every brick yourself. Who’s already standing next to you, ready to take a section?

Your church’s star rating isn’t what Google cares about most. Steady, recent reviews are, and they’re completely free.

Same script. Same awkward pause. Same plea to "give generously." Most churches run the offering moment on autopilot, and people quietly tune out before the buckets even move. A better offering talk takes under two minutes and follows four steps. Tell one story of a life your church's giving touched. Anchor it in one verse. Connect it to where the money goes and what God is doing through it. Then make giving simple and pray over the people giving. People don't give to budgets. They give to stories and a mission they believe in. Want help writing it fresh every week? The Most Powerful Free SEO Tool Your Church Isn't Using Most churches spend money on ads and agencies while ignoring the one thing Google says matters most. It's free. It's Google reviews. It's not your star rating that moves the needle. It's review velocity. How many reviews you have, and how recently they came in. A 4-star listing with 60 recent reviews beats a 5-star listing with 4 reviews from 2019. Every time. Recency is the game. Review signals now make up roughly a sixth of your local search ranking. More than links. More than citations. More than most things you're paying for. Most churches already have people who would leave a glowing review. Nobody has ever asked them the right way, at the right moment. The right moment is right after someone tells you something was good. Not from the stage on a random Sunday. In the lobby, when the moment is still warm. Reviews cost nothing, compound over time, and Google weighs them more heavily every year. Start building velocity this week. Comment REVIEW, and we'll send you a free Church Marketing Review that shows exactly where your church stands in local search right now.

Pastor, you can rest now. Sunday’s over, but your mind probably isn’t. You’re still running through it. Whether the sermon landed. Whether that new family will come back. Whether you said enough, or too much. None of that grows any faster because you stayed up thinking about it. Paul said it simply: “I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.” (1 Corinthians 3:6) Your part was to plant. You did that. The growing was never your job. So go get some sleep. God’s still working tonight.

Every church has one. The person who unlocks the doors before anyone else arrives. Who's run the sound board for eleven years. Who restocks the coffee without being asked and never puts their name on anything. They don't need a stage moment. They'd probably be embarrassed by one. But somewhere along the way, everyone started assuming they'd always be there. And people who are always there are the easiest to stop seeing. This week, find them. Not with an announcement. With a handwritten note, a phone call, or five minutes face to face. Tell them what their faithfulness has meant. It'll mean more than you think.

Should preaching make people feel good? Not if that’s the main goal. But an engaging sermon that keeps people’s attention isn’t watering down the gospel. It’s helping more people actually hear it. Where do you land: engaging, or just entertaining?

It’s almost Sunday, and the sermon still doesn’t feel ready. Maybe the outline is shaky. Maybe your own heart is tired. Maybe you’ve rewritten the ending three times and still aren’t sure it lands. Here’s the good news: Sunday was never resting on how ready you feel. Paul heard it straight from God: “My power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9). Bring what you have. Stand up anyway. God has done His best work through tired, unsure people for a very long time.

What If AI Could Give You Some of Your Week Back? Sermon prep is sacred. It's also exhausting. And for a lot of pastors, it's eating the time that should go to people. The blank page on Tuesday morning. You know what you want to say. Getting it out of your head and onto paper takes hours you don't always have. The rabbit hole of research. One passage. Four commentaries. Six cross-references. Three hours later, you're not sure where you started. AI doesn't write your sermon. It helps you get unstuck. A prompt, a question, a place to start. The voice is still yours. It's not replacing the Spirit. It's replacing the blank screen. Prayer, study, and wrestling with the text stay exactly where they belong. The pastors using it aren't taking shortcuts. They're spending less time staring at nothing and more time actually preparing. Your sermon is your work. AI just helps you start. Do you use AI in your sermon prep? Yes or no in the comments.

Your church will never out-produce the internet. But it can offer what the internet can’t: real people in a real room.

There's a New Type of Church Visitor (And Most Churches Aren't Ready) The person walking through your doors in 2026 is not who you think. Here's who they actually are. They've already researched you. 33% of churchgoers found their church online. The first impression happened before Sunday. They're younger and more male than you expect. Gen Z now averages 1.9 church weekends a month. Men outpace women 43% to 36%, the widest gap in 25 years. They're spiritually curious but theologically thin. Bible sales are up 87%. They're hungry. But most have little church background and need a clear "what's next." They came because they're lonely. The loneliness epidemic is a front door. But only if your church delivers on the promise of real belonging after Sunday. They'll leave if Sunday is the only touchpoint. Gen Z won't stick around for a service. They'll stick around for a community. There's a difference. The churches that meet them where they are will grow. The ones that assume they know who's walking in will miss them. Comment TEMPLATE, and we'll send you our free visitor follow-up templates built for exactly this kind of visitor.

A generic thank-you fades fast. Tell people what their giving actually accomplished.

Your people don’t need a perfect pastor. They need a present one. They won’t remember whether every sermon landed or every program ran smoothly. They’ll remember who sat with them in the hospital. Who noticed when they went quiet. Who looked up from the phone when they started talking. Perfection keeps people at a distance. Presence lets them in. You don’t have to get everything right this week. Just be there. Who needs your presence this week?

Faithful church leadership starts long before the title shows up. Joseph dreamed of greatness, but his first leadership assignment wasn’t in a palace. It was in Potiphar’s house, where he served as a slave (Genesis 39:1-4). He didn’t own the household. Nobody had promised him a promotion. Still, he served so faithfully that Potiphar put everything he owned in Joseph’s care (Genesis 39:4-6). Then came a false accusation and a prison cell. Even there, Joseph didn’t walk away from his responsibility, and the warden ended up placing the other prisoners in his hands (Genesis 39:21-23). In the household, he served. In the prison, he served. And when Egypt was entrusted to him, he served. His circumstances kept changing. His faithfulness never did. Pastor, it’s easy to live for the next season. A bigger congregation. More resources. Wider influence. But God is asking a quieter question: how are you stewarding what’s already in your hands? Love the people in front of you. Steward what you’ve been given. Obey God in the season you’re in. Be faithful with today’s assignment. Trust God with what comes next. Save this for the days your season feels small, and send it to a pastor who needs the reminder that faithfulness in hidden places still matters.

Most pastors dread the offering moment, but four simple moves make it feel like an invitation instead of a pitch. Create a moment, connect the dots, clarify the process, close with thanks 🙏

Your preaching didn't get worse. Your people didn't stop caring. But somewhere along the way, the new faces stopped showing up, and nobody can quite explain why. Most of the time, growth doesn't stall on Sunday. It stalls days earlier, on someone's phone. They search for a church and can't find yours. Or they land on a website with last year's service times and no clear next step, and quietly move on. They never tell you. They just never come. The good news is that it's fixable. That's why we built a free Church Marketing Review. A real person scores your church across 10 areas, from your website to local search, then walks you through what to fix first on a free 20-minute call. Comment REVIEW and we'll send you the link. 👇
