When Mark Walter’s TWG Global recently denied there was a fire sale of his sports assets planned, the company explicitly said the Dodgers and his stake in the Cadillac Formula 1 team were not up for grabs. It didn’t say so about the Sparks. That story: frontofficesports.com/articl…

Mark Walter's company says the Dodgers aren't for sale and his Cadillac F1 stake isn't for sale and there's no fire sale... ...but he also owns the Sparks and the PWHL, "which were not mentioned in the statement." 😏 frontofficesports.com/mark-w…

The NFL has big global ambitions that are only going to get bigger, perhaps with 10 international games next season and possibly as many as 16 annually at some point. In @FOS. frontofficesports.com/articl…

Suns owner Mat Ishbia reacts to the Clippers/Ballmer fallout: "I think Steve probably regrets what he did. I’m sure Steve realized he made a mistake. It doesn’t make me not like Steve. I think Steve Ballmer’s a great owner... That was a misstep." frontofficesports.com/articl…

Joel Dahmen calls the PGA Tour's current status system "kind of up and down and all over the place," but is hopeful the Championship/Challenger Series shift changes that. "The biggest thing I'm happy about is it's just well-defined," Dahmen told @FOS. frontofficesports.com/articl…

Today, @TexasLonghorns announced the launch of "Bevo Lab," an initiative that will develop artificial intelligence-driven tools for coaches & student-athletes across its 21 varsity athletic programs, including sport-specific chatbots. I chatted with the project's leader, former Spurs exec and current Ringer NBA analyst @kirkgoldsberry, about how Bevo Lab plans to give Texas a competitive edge, the opportunities and ethical questions that come with bringing AI into college athletics, and how he squares the uniquely human appeal of sports with the industry’s growing embrace of tech. "There are reasons to be skeptical about AI and its impact in many domains—and trust me, I’m there. I’m a writer," he tells @FOS. "But when it comes to sports analytics, it’s pretty clear that this stuff is going to lead to a lot of improvement and a lot of new standards for best practices." frontofficesports.com/articl…

Really fun Q&A that @EllynBriggs did with Kirk Goldsberry, who is heading up Texas athletics' push into AI.
Kirk Goldsberry, former Spurs executive and analyst for The Ringer, is leading Texas athletics’ new AI program. “There are reasons to be skeptical about AI. But when it comes to sports analytics, it’s pretty clear that this is going to lead to a lot of improvement,” he told FOS.

You watch Inside the NBA for these segments. Not for basketball analysis. You can get that somewhere. This is Hall of Fame hilarious. 😂

In an alternate universe, Texas Tech at Cincinnati is the Brendan Sorsby Bowl. He's not playing but a lawsuit still looms. More on that, and a question I posed to NFL Draft analysts: Where's Sorsby's stock in a year with college QB uncertainty? @FOS frontofficesports.com/articl…

A lot of smoke around the Ringer and Substack -- why are Ringer writers launching Substacks vs... writing for the Ringer? Substack CEO finally commented Weds: “We didn’t pay them anything and there’s no special deal.” @EllynBriggs @BenAxelrod @FOS frontofficesports.com/articl…

Asked @PabloTorre his reaction to *that* ESPN story from before the Clippers punishments came down: "They didn’t ask for a comment, but once the story came out, I was informed that if you give us a comment, we will include it... it was disappointing that the comment I gave... was not included. The thing that was disappointing about that chapter was just that I’d worked with all those people. I had respect for all of those people. And there’s an opportunity to reach out to me, not that I’m owed it, but perhaps that would have saved a lot of people some headaches... I can only bring a horse to water on that." @FOS
