Home Minister Saifuddin-PKR & Deputy Law Minister Kulasegaran-DAP take detour when asked for updates on Teoh Beng Hock case. Remember when DAP milked TBH’s death to its last drop of political capital? If you do, then you’re not a Dapster ’cos Dapsters have the memory span of a goldfish. Pix: Guan Eng at TBH’s grave site; look at the number of Cina photographers! nst.com.my/amp/news/nation/2…
A lawmaker had sought answers from Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail on two issues concerning the investigation into the death of former DAP aide Teoh Beng Hock. The minister duly responded. But his answers appeared to have taken a detour. Read more: malaysiakini.com/news/887998…

Lim Guan Eng corruption trial: Prosecution closed its case yesterday Key prosecution witness Datuk Ewe Swee Kheng died on 5 Oct 2021 after falling from his top-floor duplex penthouse in Penang & landing in the swimming pool. Ewe had been scheduled to testify. He was a property developer linked to the undersea tunnel project & land approvals. In his final statement to MACC some weeks earlier, Ewe said he was worried about his safety after making the disclosures. Another key witness, G. Gnanaraja, asked for police protection in Aug 2025 after an attack at his home by a gang of men left him traumatised & requiring stitches.

Now that Umno, MCA & DAP are all sitting under one Madani tent, BN chair Zahid seems to favour lembu dicucuk hidung DAP (sulky fat cow with 40 MPs) more than he favours skinny cow MCA (only two MPs).
BN chairperson Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has maintained that “everything is positive” within the coalition, but MCA president Wee Ka Siong’s remarks suggest otherwise. Tensions between BN lynchpin Umno and its coalition partner MCA appear to have come to a head just days before the Malacca state election. Read more: malaysiakini.com/news/887948…

Squealer thought he’d take a short catnap (May 2019). He’s shocked to wake up seven years later & find Dapsters still remaining in their zombie sleep (Oct 2026).

(1) Cina only listen to what they want to hear. My tweet of a Siti Kasim clip – posted raw without any side commentary from me – got 23,000 views & many likes. Siti reinforces the Chinese confirmation bias, i.e. mocking Hadi’s party as “PIS PAS PUS”. As well, her type of (tiny minority) Malay worldview reassures the Dapsters. (2) My follow-up tweet feat. relevant BM excerpts from Minda Presiden PAS only got <1k views. (3) Among the anti-PAS non-Malay demographic, Siti has an outsized online presence. But it is one which does not translate into on-the-ground ballots among non-Malay voters (i.e. Siti lost her deposit in GE15) & is far from leaving any footprints among the Malay electorate. (4) MCA has little leverage left among the Chinese. Anthony Loke recently estimated DAP Chinese support at a floor of 80% — even after steadily losing popularity. Taking Loke’s own projection, at best/worse, only 20% of Chinese votes are not aligned with his party. Of this number, half are more likely to be abstentions on polling day rather than pro MCA. (5) MCA has never tried hard enough to counter the DAP narrative. Hence the party’s support falling to 5% in 2022. (6) MCA is a directionless party but I must give a deserving shoutout to its youth wing info chief, Neow Choo Seong. His advocacy for the welfare of street 🐕 is a cause close to my heart. (7) MCA does not have the escape velocity to break free from the Chinese negative view of PAS nurtured for so long by DAP. (8) DAP vs PAS are two opposing ends of the Horseshoe Hypothesis — DAP with 40 MPs; PAS with 43 (the two biggest parties in Dewan). "⚔️ There can be only one!" — iconic tagline from 1986 film ‘Highlander’ (9) When PKR leaders made police reports against Eric See-To, it was PAS (Nik Abduh & Kedah info chief Zulkifli Yahya) who clarified that Eric had been maliciously set up by ‘ceplos’ (cybertroopers). And it was Ridhuan Tee who provided the moderating Islamic voice. (10) #DapstersSuckers 🤷🏻‍♀️

Siti’s schtick is to stridently play the 🔺“As a …”🔻 [insert race/religion] card ⤵️
🤔 My tweet of Siti Kasim’s clip has ~22,500 views & many likes 📎 In it, she signals a Malaysian Firster framing that her type of Malays don’t view their Chinese neighbours as a threat nor Christian friends as enemy. Her GE16 political track is a niche appeal to non Malays & non Muslims coupled with bashing Hadi Awang & his party that she calls “PIS PAS PUS”. Siti’s schtick is to stridently play the 🔺“As a …”🔻 [insert race/religion] card — leveraging her Malay name & Muslim religion to platform particular viewpoints that are popular among non Malays & non Muslims. This clever hinge is how @sitikasim becomes the totem for her supporters. To listen to secular Siti quoting the Quran, see 2/2 🧵

Siti Kasim berkata dirinya Melayu & menegaskan bhw dia seorg Muslim. @sitikasim juga berkata “ramai kawan Melayu” beliau menganggap diri mereka Malaysian Firsters (“mahu dikenali sbg rakyat M’sia terlebih dahulu”). 📹 Siti Kasim: “Saya Melayu & Muslim, ya. Hadi tidak bercakap bg pihak semua org spt saya. Saya Melayu & juga saya seorg Muslim. Saya mempunyai ramai kawan Melayu yg mahu dikenali sbg rakyat M’sia terlebih dahulu. Kami, ya, tidak melihat jiran Cina sbg ancaman. Kami tidak melihat, ah, kawan Kristian sbg musuh. Kami tidak memerlukan, ya, ahli politik utk mengajar kami mencurigai org yg hidup bersama kami.”

Siti Kasim needs special spectacles — she can see Hadi Awang everywhere but is unable to see the DAP elephant in the room. @sitikasim said “it’s quite rich” for Hadi to talk about divisiveness when he is somebody who fails to look in the mirror. The PAS president had singled out DAP – which is dominated by one race – when launching a book on Oct 17 in Cyberjaya. 📹 clips in the comments.

Why don’t you do a field test: Go to any Cina totok area, pick a random M’sian Chinese stranger around the guy’s age (say mid-20s) & speak two sentences in bahasa Melayu. Then come back & share with us here the result of your experiment.

In the Tiktok, the M’sian Chinese man clearly admits that he speaks no Malay. In his defence, he says he is “global”. 1/2 🧵

He does mention why he is at the Paris protest — watch the Tiktok towards the end of interview. But I don’t care about his protest participation. I’m responding to the Melayu skepticism. They cannot believe that a Malaysian is unable to respond to “Apa khabar?” I’m saying it is not unusual for Malaysian Chinese not to speak Malay. In the Tiktok, the Malaysian Chinese man clearly admits that he does not speak Malay.

🧵 2/2 ‘Somewhere’ ppl vs ‘Anywhere’ ppl xitter.cf/realhelenang/status/21…
Some Cina M’sia are ‘ANYWHERE’ people; many Melayu are ‘SOMEWHERE’ people. ‘Anywhere’ people have greater mobility. Over the years, Cina – in the hundreds of thousands – have already out emigrated mainly to S’pore but also the Anglophone countries. ‘Somewhere’ people are more rooted in their country of birth or attached to their hometowns. In a viral Tiktok, one M’sian Chinese in Paris – speaking fluent French – declared that he’s a “global” person, after having lived in Japan too — 📹📎 #borderlessWorld

Yeah, right. I believe BFM about the foaming Chinese tea (not beer, konon) as much as I believe BBC about the “largely peaceful protests” in France.
The Old Paulians’ Association has denied allegations that school prefects handled or served alcohol at its centenary reunion dinner on Sept 5. It said the prefects only served Chinese tea, adding that any foam seen after pouring was caused by natural aeration. 🧵1

He spoke entirely in French. I do not know French. Therefore, I’m unable to identify his accent. However, I’ve done a transcript based on the subtitles, see 📎 Other readers have said that the lettering on his helmet is Japanese. In the clip, he himself mentioned that he has lived a lot in Japan. From the interviewer’s repeated questions (refer transcript), it is clarified that he is Chinese & he is from Malaysia. So, he is M’sian Chinese.
📹 At a Paris protest, street interview (google translated transcript) Woman 🙎‍♀️: Excuse me, where are you from? M’sian Chinese man👲🏻: Err, je suis dans la Malaisie mais. (Err, I’m from Malaysia but…) 🙎‍♀️: [Interrupts] Ah tu es Malais, oui. Apa khabar? [Laughs.] I know, I know (Ah, you’re Malay, yes? Apa khabar? I know, I know). 👲🏻: Mais parfois avec ma famille, nous parlons Chinois (But sometimes with my family, I speak Chinese.) 🙎‍♀️: Oui, mais tu parles super bien Francąis (Yes, but you speak French really well). 👲🏻: Oh, oui (Oh, yes.) 🙎‍♀️: Et comment se fait-il que vous parliez si bien français? L’avez-vous appris ici, tu habites ou-là bas en Malaisie. (And how did you come to speak French so well? Did you learn here or over there in Malaysia)? 👲🏻: J’ai habité à l’Asie mais c’est comme j’ai habité au Japon comme beaucoup de temps. (I learned in Asia but it’s, like, I lived in Japan a lot of the time). 🙎‍♀️: Mais tu habites Malais (But did you live in Malaysia)? 👲🏻: [French subtitle not available] Yes, however my family are Chinese. 🙎‍♀️: Ah, oui non mais je sais parce qu’en Malaisie il y a Chinois, il y a Indien et il y a Malais, je sais, je sais. Je suis restée là bas très longtemps. Est-ce que tu parlais Malais ou pas non (Ah, right — well, I know, because in Malaysia there are Chinese, Indians, and Malays; I know, I know. I stayed there a long time. Did you speak Malay or not)? 👲🏻: No. [Shakes his head} 🙎‍♀️: Ah, tu parles pas Malais. Oh, ah, c’est dommage (Ah, you don’t speak Malay. Oh, ah, it’s a shame). 👲: Je suis une personne mondiale (I am a global person). Woman: Ah, ok, ok. […]
