54 years ago tonight, October 26, 1972, the Boston Garden scene in “The Friends of Eddie Coyle” was filmed during an actual Bruins-Blackhawks game. Chicago won 6-3. The only fake part? The organ music. It was added in post-production because legendary Garden organist John Kiley hated hockey so much he'd leave for coffee during games. When the Jacobs brothers bought the Bruins and Boston Garden in 1975 for $10 million, they finally made him stick around and play. 🎹🏒

NEWS: NC State has fired coach Dave Doeren. The firing comes in the wake of a loss at Stanford on Friday night. He went 98-74 over his 14 seasons there. NC State is 3-4 and 1-3 in ACC after the Stanford loss.

Saints are scheduled to leave tonight for Paris, where they play the Steelers next Sunday at Stade de France. Despite intense riots and social unrest there, the NFL says the game is on. “Preparations continue as scheduled for NFL events and the game at Stade de France next Sunday,” the NFL said. “We continue to work closely with local authorities and partners on all operational and security matters. We are also providing the two clubs with regular updates. There’s been no disruption or impact at league sites.”
