What I’m hearing here is there are concerns about changes in the checkpoint leading to Route 35 from Hebron and overall the issue of traffic from Hebron

One thing that is clear also is that almost all the election materials in that part of the West Bank around Efrat and south to Hebron is Ben-Gvir and so is a lot in Jerusalem

This sounds like an academic way of saying the particulars don't matter, because Israel shouldn't exist, and its efforts to survive will never be justified.

Michael Walzer published “Just and Unjust Wars,” an attempt to delineate the rights and wrongs of warfare in both its causes and its conduct, in 1977. In the nearly 50 years since, no other book on the subject has matched its influence. The precepts are not complicated: it is just to defend your country from an invasion and it is unjust to invade a country that has not attacked you—although Walzer does allow for exceptions, mostly for humanitarian causes. It is just to assume certain risks to avoid civilian casualties and it is unjust to bomb towns indiscriminately to compel an enemy to surrender. The justice of going to war—what philosophers call jus ad bellum—is separate from jus in bello, the justice of how a war is fought. The war in Gaza has made Walzer rethink one of the book’s fundamental principles. “The wall between jus ad bellum and jus in bello, which had sustained his theory for almost half a century, was no longer sturdy,” Jordi Graupera writes. As Walzer said to him, “There is a sense in which the carnage of Gaza, the ongoing carnage, simply made the war unjust.” Read about why a philosopher of war is now reconsidering his seminal work: newyorkermag.visitlink.me/T7…

Piers Morgan: What do you want to do with the West Bank and Gaza? Fleisher: Get rid of jihadis. Morgan: How many Palestinians on the West Bank are jihadists? Fleisher cites an "80%" poll figure. Morgan: So you would kick out 80% of all the Palestinians?

I went to the site of the terror attack near Hebron this morning after it happened. A number of politicians and security officials were there and several spoke to the media; it appears that there will be more statements by leading politicians going to the site There is now a closure in the West Bank, the villages all around Hebron are affected The main message of the local Israeli politicians and also some of the national ones is the following 1. that this attack is an example of the growing threat of terror in the West Bank 2. There are more voices calling to dismantle the Palestinian Authority 3. There is a sense that the West Bank terror ingratiated hasn’t been removed and that, as one said “it’s like October 6” 4. This could influence elections but also long term decisions to weaken the PA It’s clear that this attack is having wider ramifications

The NBC headline really is backwards...the terrorists carried out an attack, they killed two soldiers and wounded three people; they were killed and then Israel ordered closures in the West Bank. Why did the "lockdown" become the main headline?
“Accused?” Hey @NBCNews, what the fuck do you mean by two Palestinians “accused” of launching an attack? They did in fact launch an attack.

The war in the Middle East continues, and certain actors stand to benefit from it. One of the main beneficiaries is Moscow. Putin profits from high oil prices, seeks sanctions relief, and uses the crisis to pressure Ukraine. Russia thrives in wartime, including in the Middle East, and is doing everything it can to keep the war going. Russia is involved in the Middle East war on the side of forces attacking the United States and its allies. Moscow provides Iran with intelligence, military technology, and weapons, maintains ties with the Houthis, Hezbollah, and Hamas, and retains a military presence in Syria. Its main objective is to increase the military and economic costs for the United States and weaken American influence in the Middle East. Russia maintains ties with Hezbollah and retains the ability to influence the conflict in Lebanon. Russia supports Hamas as a political partner and participant in Middle East negotiations. Russia helps Iran strike Israeli targets. The Jerusalem Post reported that Russian intelligence may have provided Iran with a list of 55 critical energy infrastructure facilities in Israel. Russia helps Iran identify targets for attacks on American forces. According to Reuters, between March 21 and 31, 2026, Russian satellites conducted at least 24 surveillance operations covering 46 sites across 11 Middle Eastern countries, including US military bases. American sources reported that Russian intelligence helped Iran carry out a precision strike on Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia. American service members were wounded, and an E-3 AWACS aircraft was damaged. Russia helps Iran improve weapons designed to attack American naval forces and military bases. According to a Financial Times investigation, Russian specialists are involved in developing Iran's C430L supersonic cruise missiles. Entities linked to Rosoboronexport and NPO Mashinostroyeniya are reportedly involved in the project. Moscow is also transferring drone technology, guidance systems, and electronic warfare capabilities. Russia and Iran are developing joint satellite intelligence capabilities. An October investigation by StateWatch revealed the involvement of the Russian company BARL in servicing Iran's Khayyam satellite. The documents outlined plans to conduct satellite surveillance and provide imagery to Russian government clients, including the FSB and the Ministry of Defence. The materials referenced sites in the United States and Gulf countries. Russia supplies military cargo to Iran through the Caspian Sea. According to NBC News, citing European intelligence documents, Russian vessels transported drone components, ammunition, and explosives to Iranian ports, primarily Amirabad. This route bypasses the Strait of Hormuz and allows Moscow to sustain Iranian military production during the conflict. Separate reports have also suggested that Russian drones may have been transported through Azerbaijan disguised as humanitarian cargo. Russia helps the Houthis threaten international shipping. As early as 2024, The Wall Street Journal reported that Moscow was providing the Houthis with satellite intelligence through Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to facilitate attacks on commercial vessels in the Red Sea. There were also reports of negotiations over the supply of Russian Yakhont anti-ship missiles and small arms. Russian military intelligence officers and technical specialists may be assisting the Houthis. In October 2026, Sheba Intelligence reported that more than 50 Russian specialists were allegedly operating in Sana'a, helping the Houthis with military communications, electronic warfare, and counter-drone systems. Earlier reports had suggested the presence of GRU personnel. Analyst Nawaf Obaid described a possible arrangement in which Russia supplies intelligence, Iran coordinates its transmission, and the Houthis use the information to conduct operations against Saudi forces. If confirmed, this would amount to direct Russian military involvement in supporting Houthi operations. The continuation of the war in the Middle East brings concrete benefits to specific actors. Moscow helps Iran attack American forces and US allies, profits from the oil crisis, and extracts concessions from Washington. Prolonging the war serves the Kremlin's interests.
Trump promises to make America stronger, but his decisions weaken the United States and strengthen its rivals. The US is already struggling even with Iran, which is far weaker than Russia or China. The US military has been unable to force Tehran to stop its attacks and ensure stability in the Persian Gulf. The result has been global energy shortages and higher prices for Americans. The war with Iran is already depleting US weapons stockpiles. According to CSIS estimates, the US has used a substantial share of its stocks of certain types of missiles and interceptors. Replenishing them will take years. These are the same systems the US needs to defend its bases and allies and deter China. In this situation, Trump has decided to make things easier for Russia. He is arranging diesel supplies with Putin, considering sanctions relief, and demanding that Ukraine stop striking Russian oil refineries. Meanwhile, his administration is constraining the Ukrainian military, which effectively bears the entire burden of defending NATO’s eastern border. If Ukraine falls, who will defend those borders? Trump’s claim that stopping Ukrainian strikes will help lower US fuel prices is not backed by any evidence. American prices depend primarily on the global oil market, the war in the Middle East, refinery operations, fuel inventories, and logistics. Even if Ukraine stops these attacks, prices will not necessarily fall significantly, especially in the short time remaining before the elections. Russia, meanwhile, will receive tangible economic benefits. Trump is effectively helping Russia rebuild military strength that Americans themselves will later have to contain—and not only in Europe. Today, Ukraine ties down a substantial part of the Russian army and forces Moscow to expend enormous resources. If Russia gains a respite, sanctions relief, and the opportunity to rebuild its forces, it will be able to prepare for new conflicts more quickly. Not only in Europe, but quite possibly alongside its allies in Asia as well. This directly undermines America’s main priority: deterring China. Russia and China do not act in isolation. China supports the Russian economy, buys its energy resources, and supplies dual-use goods. Russia is deepening its military cooperation with Iran and North Korea. These countries are currently partners in the war against Ukraine. They could just as easily join forces in a war somewhere in Asia. Trump also risks losing his allies’ trust—one of America’s main advantages over Russia and China. American power rests not only on its own military, but also on NATO, allied military bases, intelligence sharing, logistics, technology, and economic cooperation. The US could end up with fewer allies, more wars, higher costs, and less ability to influence its adversaries.

On October 23, 1983, Hezbollah suicide bombers detonated truck bombs at the US and French Marine barracks in Beirut, killing 241 US Marines, sailors, and soldiers, 58 French military personnel, and six civilians. The US and French forces were in Lebanon as part of a peacekeeping mission. In a September 2023 interview, Issa Tabatabai, the Ayatollah's representative in Lebanon, acknowledged Iran's role in the attack. Two senior Hezbollah members, Fuad Shukr and Ibrahim Aqil, were wanted by the US for their roles in the bombing. Israel eliminated both of them in 2024 during its campaign against Hezbollah.

Praying for the souls of the 241 Americans killed in the terrorist attack on our Marines in 1983. I can think of no more fitting tribute to those heroes than to defeat the evil regime responsible for their murder.
43 years ago, Hezbollah terrorists attacked U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut, Lebanon, and killed 241 Americans. We will never forget their sacrifice. 🇺🇸 The attack was directed, financed and ordered by the same evil Iranian regime that President Trump is fighting today.
