Hi, it’s your friendly @flatwaterfreep editor, for no reason whatsoever reminding you the NU athletic dept is now 12th in country in football spending…& has spent more per win than every major college team except (gulp) Rutgers.
Good work by Henry Cordes:

Nebraska is fiscally conservative right up until the point they pay head football coaches 50 bajillion dollars to go away
We should probably remember this the next time a head coach has two good weeks and Penn State expresses tepid support and we freak out and give the coach a 99-year contract. But to be clear, we will not.
The midterm maps are (understandably) broken as they compare R & D, leaving out indie Senate candidates like in Nebraska and Montana.
Monday in @flatwaterfreep we will have the story on how Pete Ricketts survived (quite a W actually) with more revealing maps from Nebraska.

“I never wanted to do anything else,” and every single Nebraska basketball fan, whether they have listened to @KentPavelka for 4 years or for 40, knows he’s telling the truth.
You simply cannot fake Kent’s love for his job. It’s such a good lesson. And such a wonderful legacy.

Amid the cinephiles' lofty debates about truth and art, it's worth listening to @TylerShultz_'s take on the film and on Elizabeth.
Elizabeth Holmes is “almost unrecognizable” in Nathan Fielder’s documentary, “You Can See Everything,” to Theranos whistleblower Tyler Shultz: “The woman that I saw on screen looked, frankly, like a broken woman.”
Shultz tells @gayleking and @norahodonnell about his reaction to the film, speaking out about Theranos in 2015 and why the documentary is garnering sympathy for Holmes, who is serving a more than 11-year prison sentence for defrauding investors: “She is not playing victim. She is an actual victim.”
“You Can See Everything” is everything the trailer suggested and way more.
My palms were sweaty for the entire last hour. Pretty sure I was staring at the screen, mouth agape, like a chimp that just discovered fire.
Woman in row behind us, after it ended: “I need a cigarette.”
Staying up til 2 AM to watch
Nebraska sleepwalk thru another 4th quarter and lose to Dylan Raiola is officially the worst decision I have made in October.

New at Flatwater: One wannabe Omaha homebuyer went hunting for housing solutions. She found little houses in Benson, cash incentives in North Platte and a midwest city that just kept building.
Could these solutions make a difference for Nebraskans?

It’s been a tough Sunday for your uncle who lives in Mount Greenwood who’s been saying Tyson Bagent is better than Caleb Williams.
New at @flatwaterfreep: For the past decade, the Nebraska football program has spent more per win than any other college in the country except for one.
Rutgers.
And Henry Cordes identifies a recent spending surge — one NU hopes will return it to glory.
