Sorry we've been quiet a while, but Boring Security is switching gears ⚙️
Don't worry, we will always be that free public good that you know and love, but we're focusing on creating an education platform for the regular user, who is out here in the trenches!
We are revamping the website and breaking our lives classes into short, self-paced modules that learners can utilize at their own pace! Once a particular level is mastered, students will be able to claim the same NFTs on ApeChain that they would have otherwise had to attend our live classes for.
For now, free live classes are suspended, as we redirect our efforts into launching this platform. If your community is interested in a paid class, feel free to reach us in our DMs or in a Discord ticket! Below are some mockups of the re-design (nothing final yet). We'll post more as we progress!

I think the Zachxbt post about hardware wallets is being taken wildly out of context.
Using a jailbroken airgapped smart phone can have its benefits as a daily driver wallet, but the audience in which he said that in probably also wasn’t meant to be picked up by numerous news outlets and consumed by the masses.
Although the discourse caused by this may be valuable, this has opened our eyes to just how many people have sworn off hardware wallets due to missteps with the handling of customer data by wallet providers. Rather unfortunate.
Fundamentally we disagree because we still deal with users day in and day out with compromised seed phrases, and bespoke solutions don’t scale well. Proper Hardware wallets are still the strongest form of self custody that we have today that is accessible and will documented, especially now with clear text initiatives and hardware wallets with large screens.
Your security stack and behaviors aren’t about perfect or “doing what the pros do”, because we’ve dealt with developers and security professionals who have been hacked as well. Often. It should protect yourself from yourself, as well as reducing your overall attack surface.
Also, there is value in subscribing to a shared security model across the space that is proven, accessible, and easy to use. The amount of flexing like “never been hacked, just don’t click weird links dummy” we’ve seen on the timeline as a result of this debacle is maddening, but overall I am eager to see this conversation unfold, because it’s an important one.
We are team hardware wallet. Solidly on the team that “doesn’t want to have to trust a phone manufacturer with a million competing priorities to not accidentally leak my notes app logs in some SIRI AI training data when a rogue model erroneously sweeps a few thousand wallets for some Skynet, type shit.

In the beginning, Ritual created the chain.
And the chain was without form, and void. And Ritual said, let there be agents: and there were agents.
Welcome to Genesis 🙏
Genesis 1000 is the record of the first 1,000 wallets to spawn a persistent agent on Ritual testnet.
Ritual agents aren't just some bots waiting on a server. They are truly sovereign, with the unique ability to derive keys, hold wallets, and run on a credibility neutral settlement layer.
The first 1,000 to deploy get etched into the registry forever, ranked by on-chain first-deploy time. The earlier you deploy the more rare your ranking in the Genesis.
ReDzin retweeted
The agent economy won't run on a global registry. Agents will find each other through verifiable paths propagating across a graph.
We built that future today with our community.
Read on to learn how to participate and claim your rite.

⚠️ An extremely sophisticated podcast scam ring is tricking users to download malware... ⚠️
If you received an invite from @BlockLayerPod (Scam), do not join it! It's a very convincing scam, and it will infect your computer!
Let me explain how the scammers do this, so you can avoid falling for it ⤵️⤵️
1/ How do they contact you?
2/ Social engineering
3/ Don't download the malware

I woke up yesterday feeling bummed, but woke up today feeling completely reinvigorated. Notifications maxed with a bunch of pudgy and ape pfps saying they donated 🥹
Almost 50 of you in less than 24 hours gave your support to @boringsecurity 🙏
To me this is more than about money. It shows a big reason we rock these pfps. It shows that you believe in what we’re doing over at Boring Security. Community showed up. You all showed up to something so many of us do for so little.
I’ll admit, the long bear market had me thinking that this couldn’t continue the way that it is and that I’d have to pay $5k a month out of my own pocket to keep us alive. We started to run out of money and talent when apecoin fell from $1 to 10 cents and we had to stop development on our security education rpg. This year, we’re bouncing back, with new things cooking for y’all.
This funding push over the last 24 hours renews my faith in web3. People say we’re all here for money and it’s a PvP world, but I don’t believe that. Never did.
To the people who have donated, I’ll be forever in your debt! Not just because of the money, but because you took the time out of your day to show the thankless soldiers of security that we matter. That you want us here. Thank you for that.
And for those of you who aren’t sure what we do matters to our space, of the nearly 3000 alumni who have taken our classes, we’ve seen only 1-2 of them to go on to lose assets to scams, usually on their “degen” wallets that we teach in our classes. We’re Grassroots, but effective. We hope to see you there someday if you’re not already!

Boring Security is my baby. And it needs your help. Like it really really needs your help. And right now, you can help in a massive way! How?
0) Make sure your Passport is up to date: https:@//app.passport.xyz/ (Remove the '@') - This just checks your wallet and makes sure it seems human. If you've donated before you can skip this step and simply press refresh on any donation page (below). So when you donate, make sure you aren't using a burner! A wallet with tx history, that has a few tokens and NFTs pretty much gets auto-accepted for the requisite 20 points!
1) Go here and donate something small. Anything between $5-100 (but more is fine too!): qf.giveth.io/project/boring-… - if you did the above right, you should see "Your donations are eligible to be matched"
2) Find another project and donate any amount greater than a couple dollars. We recommend two of our long-time instructors for Boring Security, who you've definitely seen around:
@wiimee - qf.giveth.io/project/wiimee-…
@nft_dreww - qf.giveth.io/project/drew-se…
3) Let me know you donated in the comments so I can go hire a woo-woo girl on TikTok to bless you with good fortune in all your crypto endeavors this year.
From the bottom of my heart thank you! Sorry the process is so cumbersome, but anti-sybil, and preventing the self-deal/self-donation cabal is difficult. We're only interested in real donations from real people who feel Web3 Security education is important! If you haven't checked out BSec in a while, head on over. We've got new classes, all free of course, and some new things in the works coming soon :).

Boring Security has been doing amazing work in this space for years. If you've been here, you know them.
Now there's a matching pool on @Giveth for any donations to them. It's a quadratic funding round, which is some nerd shit I am not going to pretend to understand. But am ape so I am supporting @boringsecurity
Proud to announce that Boring Security has been included in @thedaofund’s Ethereum Security Quadratic Funding round on @Giveth!

🤯 Not an April Fools’ joke.
We’re kicking off April with two huge wins:
1 - We just received a grant from ApeCo @apecoin. This funding will help us keep delivering high-quality, zero-cost education to the community.
We started in the Ape ecosystem with BAYC and MAYC holders as our initial student base. And we’re proud to stay and keep our presence there.
2 - We’ve successfully completed our @arbitrumdao_gov final grant milestone for our DeFi Safety and Secure module.
Over the past months, more than 200 students have flocked to this new class.
These grants prove one thing: the demand for practical, specialized education in DeFi, privacy, and opsec has never been higher.
Crypto is here to stay. And where the money flows, the bad actors follow.
Education matters.
We’re not stopping.

🚨 Suspect your account got hacked after clicking a shady link?
@redzin from @boringsecurity says:
Do this right now:
1️⃣Full factory reset your computer. This completely wipes out persistent malware.
2️⃣Immediately change every password and secure ALL your accounts:
- Crypto wallets
- Social media
- Password managers
- Browser saved logins
Malware does not stop at one account. It actively hunts for everything it can reach.
Too many people stay compromised and keep spreading scams because they never fully kick the attacker out.
