This KMI system is broken. If 2/5 judges say it wasn’t a red card, then surely VAR was wrong to intervene even if 3/5 think it should have. Based on logic that VAR shouldn’t intervene on a split opinion decision
Sat 10: Referee makes a decision so obviously wrong that the VAR tells him to change it
Thurs 14: Expert panel tells the FA that the VAR was obviously wrong
Wed 20: Premier League says the VAR was obviously right and the ref was obviously wrong
From now on: Confusion. Obviously

A Premier League weekend of ferocious tackles and pretty lenient refereeing. We’re told that this is what fans want, which is possibly true. But the long-term effect of too much “letting the game flow” is actually that games don’t "flow" at all. ⬇️

I don’t know whether @mikeparry8 is really a ‘serious broadcaster’ but if so he should be stood down for a week to reflect on this bone-headed (his word) post
Another utterly, ridiculous and bone-headed decision by VAR effectivel telling the ref to rub out Everton's goal .. They tried to do @Everton for clattering the keeper but they couldn't make that stand so they invented offside. What a disgraceful episode 👎 🥶 Scrap VAR ..

The KMI panel was supposed to improve the scrutiny of refereeing.
It hasn’t worked out that way.
This is what you need to know about the panel and why it isn’t working, including:
▪️ Who is really on the panel
▪️ How it feels to be judged post-match
▪️ Explaining the voting - and what training panellists receive
▪️ How it can be improved

Towards the end of the 2018 Carabao Cup final, Arsenal boss Arsène Wenger asked me as fourth official for more added time, despite being 3-0 down
I assumed he meant another minute or two, but now realise he must have meant eight years
Sorry, Arsène

Looking forward to this immensely, though I don’t know how it’ll work given you can’t talk to referees any more

There were six incidents last season in which the KMI panel voted 5-0 that the ref’s decision was wrong but not a clear error worthy of VAR intervention
Last season Arsenal won one (Rice handball v Chelsea) and lost one (Keane challenge on Havertz v Everton), both penalties

Former Premier League referee Graham Scott (@refsplaining):
I have absolutely no idea, sorry. The evidence is irrefutable that Anderson handled deliberately in his own penalty area, batting the ball away under pressure from Enzo Le Fee.
A split second earlier, the ball also hit the hand of Le Fee, whose arm was raised and away from his body. But it was in a justifiable position given his actions and had deflected off his own shoulder, which would give him complete mitigation because the ball changed direction significantly.
While an intervention might have been a hard sell given the ball struck both players’ hands, the VAR would have had the law on his side.
