My absolute favorite thing in fics is when a character is immediately wrong. Like:
"If the moron knows what's good for him, there won't be a third time.
---------
On the third time-"
(month 8) jegbaby starts crying everytime she sees regulus all dressed up for work because she knows he'll leave so james always wraps regulus' blanket around himself so jegbaby can smell it and easily calm down
