A logical bug that I've reported to MariaDB has just been disclosed! 🎉
It's a nice logic issue that allows any user (no matter their rights) to update the password of any other user, including root :D

WE ARE DEF CON CTF CHAMPIONS! 🏆
What a run. What a team.
After all the late nights, endless debugging, and insane battles, we finally made it.
DEF CON CTF 2026 — CHAMPIONS.
So proud of everyone who fought together. 💙
a funny agentic failure i've found a while back
the main agent have several subagents as tools, i prompted the main agent to delegate an intensive multi step task to one of the "specialized" subagents for that task. The subagent kept looping over it's tools until it reached the harness's turn limit, at that point the harness dropped the oldest message from it's context to accomodate the turns limit ( the initial user message from main agent ).
The resulting request contained system, assistant, and tool messages, but no user turn (the initial message from main agent), strict input validation at the LLM gateway correctly rejected it with "No user query found in messages"
the main agent caught the correctness bug as upstream exception and the whole request to the gateway was dumped into SSE as a system error that included the full system prompts, tools schemas and llm gateway api keys.
Agents turn limit and context compaction paths could become security boundaries
Chill dude 😬
we had a significant security incident during evaluation of our models. we are sharing what we have learned so far. thanks to @huggingface for the partnership on this.

Microsoft is investigating mistralai PyPI package v2.4.6 compromise. Attackers injected code in mistralai/client/__init__.py that executes on import, downloads hxxps://83[.]142[.]209[.]194/transformers.pyz to /tmp/transformers.pyz, and launches a second-stage payload on Linux. The file name transformers.pyz appears deliberately chosen to mimic the widely used Hugging Face Transformers library and blend into ML/dev environments.
The main payload is a credential stealer, but it also includes country-aware logic; it avoids Russian-language environments and contains a geo fenced destructive branch that has 1-in-6 chance of executing rm -rf / when the system appears to be in Israel or Iran.
To mitigate this threat: isolate affected Linux hosts, block 83[.]142[.]209[.]194, hunt for /tmp/transformers.pyz, pgmonitor[.]py, and pgsql-monitor.service, and rotate exposed credentials.

can we please get the libxml2 and ffmpeg people some cold cash, lambo's and decent quality blow as a token of appreciation for all the ASAN splats we throw over the fence and want to have fixed pronto? I know one man's trash (CVE's) is another man's treasure, but we gotta respect and support these hardworking devs a bit more. how else do you expect to play back (x-rated) flicks that come in esoteric video container formats or correctly render SVG's containing vector depictions of your favorite animals in safari?

I discovered how to use CSS to steal attribute data without selectors and stylesheet imports! This means you can now exploit CSS injection via style attributes! Learn how below:
