Why do we work?
To pay rent, to build something that lasts, to stay curious, to look after the people we love.
Every day, someone in Lagos and someone in San Francisco are building a product together - on servers an engineer in Denmark keeps running. All three expect to get paid properly on payday.
The global economy is made up of people like them, connected by the work they do. And at the center of it all is a simple deal: you do good work, and you get paid fairly for it, no matter where you live.
Making that deal work across borders is what we do at @Remote.
"What happens when you can build anywhere, with anyone?"

At @Remote we built two benchmarks, HRmark and PayMark, to test whether AI can handle global payroll. We ran 12 models through 5,000 tests across 50 countries: three payslip items in four came out wrong, and thinking harder cost ~3x for under 2 points of gain.

aiforactualwork.com now goes all the way from your first prompt to Software Factories. These 4 new courses help you and your team learn:
1. Decision Models: let a model sort your incoming work, like support messages, and know exactly when you can trust it to act on its own
2. Harnesses: give an agent the instructions, limits and checks to do a job right
3. AI-Native Engineering: fix bugs and ship features with coding agents
4. Software Factories: run many agents on bug backlogs and migrations, with the sign-offs that keep their changes safe
This is how our teams at @Remote work today - available as courses anybody can take for free: aiforactualwork.com

@Jobvo wrote about @Remote's rebrand. Adding to it from the building side:
We originally thought we could plug into payroll APIs - push numbers in, push money out, and be done. Then we went looking for those APIs but they didn't exist. So we built them country by country for seven years.
People told us we were out of our minds. Why not duct-tape some vendors together and move on? Because the duct tape is exactly where payroll breaks. Usually on payday.
Now Workday, BambooHR, and Personio power their global employment offerings with Remote. The infrastructure we wished for became the product.
We built Remote to be built on.

One person on our contracts team built a tool for document work. The team says it used to take more than 200 hours a month. Now it's about 10.
We turned everything we learned into a course. The whole program is free:

"There are days I don't even think about @Remote because it's just all moving along." - from @Zapier
In the last six months they've hired in eight countries through our EOR, and cut up to 80% of the time spent on manual payroll entry. Their People Ops team even built their own expense approvals on our API.
Thanks Laura Del Gaudio, Fiona Wilson, and the whole Zapier team for sharing your experience working with Remote! It's great to be growing together:

Congratulations to @immad and the team at @mercury on the launch of Mercury Books: accounting built straight into the bank account, so the books stay current as the money moves - instead of showing up two weeks after the month closes.

A fifteen-person company in the Netherlands just hired the heads of sales from two of its competitors.
Two years ago Snitcher was four people in a basement, tracking holidays in a Notion table anyone could edit. Then they hit their first million in revenue and worked out that staying inside the Netherlands would cap how fast they could grow.
So they stopped looking only there: A staff engineer in Brazil. Sales in Serbia. Customer success in the Philippines. Business leadership in the UK. All hired through @Remote without setting up a company in any of those places. None of them had to move.
"We would not have been able to grow as fast as we did without hiring through Remote. All of these hires have been integral in us almost tripling in a year... the ROI of that is infinite."
- Stefan Manojlović , Head of Marketing at Snitcher
Congratulations to Stefan and the team for growing across borders, and to the people here who make that possible.

G2's 2026 Fall reports are out - they are built on customer reviews: @Remote took first place in 41 reports, including #1 in the Momentum report for Global Payroll and #1 globally in every Global Employment Platform segment.
Companies trust us with a part of their business that simply cannot go wrong, and some took the time to write about our work.
Congratulations to everyone here who earned the recognition, and thank you to every customer who wrote a review.

EU Inc. Co-Founder @vojtech and Remote Co-Founder & CEO @Jobvo share the pains of building a start up across Europe:
"In the US you're running a sprint. Here, it's a hurdles race with 27 hurdles."
"Germany is the worst. If you do a funding round or start a company, you have to sit down at the notary and the notary has to read out loud every word of the company documents."
"And the same is happening across other countries in Europe as well. It's no joke. It takes a lot of time."
"The one thing you don't have as a startup is time because your American competitors don't have to do any of this."

Meat proxy or prompt-paster?
How much do you actually know about AI?
We just shipped a test you take in minutes: 10 questions, 6 levels, and you land on one of them.
It sits in front of the free AI program we built at @Remote to teach the AI things everyone pretends to know - taking you from your first prompt to building workflows and agents you'll actually use, in 11 languages.
We gave it away because useful knowledge should stay open:
