Finally learned how to process the season-long geo-referenced reflectance data from Jim Ager from 2018 to 2020 using #Rstats. The coding of the NDRE and NDVI data by each fairway took less than 10 minutes.

Other than some mapping difficulties, the precision N apps are going easily with the Frost Systems equipped sprayer

Terrible video but I went to Ager to make sure the maps worked, and they did! The first variable rate N application will be going down tomorrow morning @UNLturf @JTroyTurf

Finally finished the first round of variable rate fertilizer maps using NDRE as the quantitative data to prescribe N rates based on each zone within a fairway.

Wiping the dew off and collecting morning reflectance data to see if there is any variation in NDRE reflectance depending on time of day it’s being measured. – at Lincoln, NE

In addition I’ll be comparing the relationship between the reflectance of a a couple handheld sensors (like this Spectrum TCM 500) to quality and growth, to the mower-mounted unit

We’re using an active sensor here to measure georeferenced reflectance on the fairway. Hopefully I’ll be able to determine the relationship between NDRE, growth and quality of this creeping bentgrass variety. – at Lincoln, NE

It’s a good day to take samples for my precision nitrogen study.

Generally they are made in a bread pan, but I made this chocolate one for a family meal last week

Starting to see the reflectance differences from the @GreenSightAg drone flight yesterday. 1st image is GSNDVI, and 2nd image is the visual camera.
